haha - finding your recordings is a joy You're brilliant of course, but never hear the Rawstorne before. He taught me for a year in about 1993 at his home, pre college entry. i didn't know of the hornpipe humoresque - pure Noel!! fab and drab sense of humour and a great "lollipop" for any recital right?! RiP Noel: what an inspiration and a talent (Dupre. Messiean, played like that in Liverpool?!).... wow what a master. Thank you Richard.

A very sensible and musical tempo: Bravo! Mr. McVeigh also comes the closest I have heard to articulating the first two eighth notes of each grouping as Widor indicated in the score: The first has an accent, and the second a staccato dot. This articulation makes a big difference in the effect.

I'm sorry I can't help myself - listened right to the end and to have finished with "Rhosymedre" is just......... well, I learnt at St Asaph cathedral and this piece, in that landscape, in that part of Wales at that time..... WOW. Hey Dude - perfection!!

Thanks for including Widor's Toccata from his Fifth Symphony... I did not see this selection on your list; but I enjoy listening to it, although as I cannot easily reach the top F on the pedal board, it is almost impossible for me to play it...

Hi Richard and Caroline, Nala and Bobbie Happy New Year to you and everyone here! Me discovering your channel and you Richard and Caroline and Nala and Bobbie doing virtual church is one of the one of the good things that came out of this wretched year! I´m here on the New Year´s day morning, what a a great way to start a New day and a New Year! I was at my mum´s last night and her dog trembles her way through every New Year! I always used to like fireworks until Mette (mum´s dog) got to close to one ( my fault sadly), but at least when I held her ( the dog) close and sang to her she liked that! the calming medicine didn´t work! I hope as Matt Leach said Nala and Bobbie was ok?! Got any good socks for Christmas Richard? I loved these ones Don´t know which organ sorry Harlem? Loved Nala´s? ( sorry I should recognize them by now) casual lounging at 29:26 Great selection of music! Such an impressive video! I think Vivaldi´s the spring complete with Nala and lyrics were my favorite! You play beautifully Richard! Sorry for the essay but you guys are just so great!
@caroline.balfour4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jane, happy new year! Fortunately Bobbie and Nala aren’t too worried by fireworks, they prick their ears and look in the direction of the bang then tend to go back to sleep!

Our dog was rather agitated by the neighbours' fireworks but he calmed down after some reassuring words. The cats, on the other hand, did not appear to be bothered but they work nights anyway (mouse patrol). This is a rural area where everybody has animals of some sort but I suppose that we can't blame people for wanting to do a Guy Fawkes on 2020. Looking forward to normal (virtual) service.

Dear Richard: Are you recording directly from your speakers? I think there's a problem related to a degeneration of the original signal. What you hear in that room and what we hearing out here are not the same thing. You might want to check it out? With love from an old, old organist with a degree in sound engineering. Charles in Hollywood. LOve your stuff.
@beautyinsound3 жыл бұрын
Charles, no - I realise that if that I recorded the sound 'live' in the room, the quality would be terrible. What you hear is a direct feed from the original source, just as I am hearing it in my room. The only difference is you are hearing it through KZbin in stereo, and I'm hearing it in 8-channel surround (spaced by Pedal x2, Sw & Gt x2, Ch x2 and rear x2). In post production this is mixed into 2 channels in the best way that I can. Best wishes. RM.
@karipintakivi91533 жыл бұрын
I am listening this trough a mastering quality monitoring system*, and the only place which downgrades the sound is the KZbin compression versus full quality line feed coming out of the organ. Even then the quality is perfectly useable and I am able to enjoy this. *) Prism Orpheus DAC / Crane Song Avocet studio controller / Genelec 7071A sub / PMC monobloc 200W amps / PMC IB2s transmission line studio monitors.
