I am a french citizen . I was born not far from Evreux in1941. My parents are buried in Evreux . I am master Mariner of sea-going. Now pensioned and living in Marseilles. After leaving the Merchant Navy, i worked as organist in church (cassis and carnoux en provence) to accompany messes, Chorales, solists during 20years. I have never heard directly this organ but I Know that it has been designed and constructed by Pascal Quoirin ( one of the best organ maker ) . Regarding Jonathan Scott . I can say that he is an excellent organist , he has recently inaugured the giant organ of Taipeh ( ex Formose) and everybody appreciate all what he plays : also all he speacks about. Thanks to Jonathan and all those who contribute to promote Jonthan , organists and organ music .

French organ builders from Langhedul, Dom Bédos, and Pére Isnard to Lété and Cavaillé-Coll have been famous for their wonderful reed stops, and Msr. Quoirin partakes of this grand tradition. Magnifique!

Truly, an exciting modern French tracker in glorious acoustics; needless to say, Jonathan is THE concert virtuoso. His selection of compositions are extremely noteworthy and the playing has both virtuosity as well as sensitivity for the musical line and the total understanding for the Art of the musical phrase. Grand flair for the dramatic here! Tom is indeed not only a brilliant piano virtuoso but also a brilliant and imaginative photographer!

I live in NZ too, an expatriate Anglo-Scot, who really misses the architectural wonders of my old home. A few years ago I walked from Canterbury to Iona, and visited Canterbury, Rochester, St Paul's, Southwark cathedrals, Westminster Abbey, King College Chapel, Ely, Peterborough, Lincoln cathedrals (the latter city my birthplace), Beverly Minster, York Cathedral, old abbeys including Whitby, Durham, Newcastle cathedrals, Holy Island, Edinburgh, Glasgow cathedrals and finally Iona Abbey. In many heard great organ music and some choirs. New Zealand is a beautiful place, but, as you'd understand, it doesn't come with this inheritance, but you bring for free us living here some of the most beautiful places in the UK and the Continent, with the most wonderful music ever composed, which you have totally mastered with your incredible musicianship. The Hebrides Overture was truly magnificent, a stunning arrangement which sounded totally at home in this beautiful church, blazing out from this glorious instrument. I would echo the sentiment of Janice, thank you and your brother Tom, for your generosity, it shines out.

I wonder if anyone on here can help me with a project. I have been watching these concerts since the start of the corona crisis and found them wonderful. I think that the Scott brothers are unique in their ability to convey their love of music to a wide audience and the way in which they have done this during the corona crisis has been both generous and innovative. I would like to nominate them for a UK honour for services to music. I have looked at the process for doing this and I need to have 2 supporting letters from people who know the nominees personally. I don’t have the pleasure of knowing them but, as a UK citizen living in Sweden, there is nothing to stop me nominating them and writing the justification for the nomination. So, if you know Johnathan and Tom personally, and can help me with a supporting letter, please leave a message on here and we can find a way of communicating directly. I am not a huge fan of the honours system myself, but if it exists, we might as well try and ensure that some honours go to people other than Boris’s mates.

like so many, I have thoroughly enjoyed these series of "lockdown" concerts by Jonathan on a variety of organs along with Tom's photography and editing, and indeed when he joins his brother playing the piano. What marvelously talented musicians they are and I, for one, am grateful they have worked so hard during these difficult times to bring "live" music to the world. I do not play any instruments, but do sing in a choral society and have my father to thank for my love of music, and have inherited his interest in the pipe organ - hence my admiration for the Scott Brothers. Very much looking forward to being in the audiance for one of their concerts again when we can. . .

I enjoyed this video so so much! I'd never heard of Evreux before so it was a thrilling eye-opener for me in so many ways. An amazingly light and beautiful cathedral with wonderful stained glass. The rose window in the transept is stunning, like lace. Just the brilliant filming of the interior and exterior of the building would have made this programme worth watching in itself. But the plentiful icing on the cake is Johnathan's choice of works and his stunning technique and his friendly presentation between the pieces. I loved his transcription of the Mendelssohn Hebrides overture and I think by choice I'd put his transcription on a par with if not above the orchestral version! His flying feet in some of the pieces shows an amazing and wholly accurate pedal technique of which I as a real fumbler am I incredibly envious!! The sound of the organ is so wonderfully traditional French and good that it is tracker with the brilliant Barker system. I once played some of the Widor Toccata for a friend's wedding on an English 3 manual tracker instrument and had to have physiotherapy after on by hands and wrists!! I notice some negative comments on the organ case but to me it's unashamed modern design is brilliant and complements the way the eye is drawn upwards by the height of the splendid nave and choir. Thank you all who produced this exciting video and now when I feel I can safely return to my beloved France Evreux will be a MUST to visit. Pity I won't be able to arrange Johnathan there to show me this magnificent organ to complete the visit!!
