seems like a lot of people are surprised with the use of "organic" in the title . "organic" in biology means it's not genetically modified . while in chemistry it means that it contains carbon .

Both of those are good signs of a healthy organic specimen but you can have GMO carbon based life forms with high intelligence such as the "homoborg genesis" title Klaus Schwab, of the world economic Forum, gave to anyone who took a "genetic editing course"(something close to the) aka the COVID jabs by definition it's not a vaxx do research I gave you some facts do some more yourself

How much weathering and exposure to abrasion and sunlight determine how long this kind of paint lasts. The minerals in rocks or clay make light fast pigments. Plant based dyes aren't light fast. Trick is, to get the plant material and contaminents out.

Hi i visit my mom in PA at her place in Hawley, right next to lake Wallenpaupack. is that very far from where you are filming? is there a specific name for the location? I'm an artist and also love outdoor adventures and I would love to visit the site in your video. I am actually going up to PA this weekend for a few days so If were to hear back from you while I'm still in the area and can visit it, I would be very thankful. Great video!

Im not planning to wonder around there alone, i'd drag my family members who live in PA with me so you wouldn't be pointing me towards any danger or anything like that, it just seems like an amazing opportunity as I have been looking online for places in PA i could visit to collect organic and inorganic pigment samples and your video just feels like fate; the best i was able to come up with was finding a bunch of black oak to strip some bark for the yellow pigment but collecting these samples feels much less cruel and far more useful

Or you could add oil, even your oil for cooking, and you would have oil paint

the cooking oil is transformed so it does't dry. It contains Vitamin E for expanding it's shelf-life. Linseed-oil from an art supply shop would be the right one if you want a lasting binder for colors that dies fast

Being made from rocks, they aren't really organic, are they?
@fakiirification

and rocks are not organic? They are literally pieces of the earth. cant get much more basic/natural than a rock.

Organic typically means coming from something alive. In chemistry, organic refers to a list of chemicals that must contain carbon, but not every compound that contains carbon is organic, for example: calcium carbonate from limestone chalk ect and carbon dioxide are not considered organic. The vast majority of rocks contain no carbon whatsoever. In the video, he uses coal, which comes from very, very old organic matter, so it might be considered organic in that sense. In the context of the video, however, organic pigments are pigments extracted from living things, like crushed bugs, or boiled roots. Crushed rocks will always be considered mineral or inorganic pigments

Steel contains carbon, too, but I'd hardly call it organic.

There's confusion because they use the same word for food, and for chemicals but they mean different things. Organic in chemistry terms just means made up of carbon atoms. It's is a way of dividing elements into useful groups.
@ianmiller6876

And in the context of pigments, I would say organic means originating from a living thing.

Chemistry doesn't use the word "organic" in the more popular sense of the word (e.g. groceries, food source, farming methods, etc.,): Organic chemistry is the study of molecules that contain carbon compounds. In contrast, inorganic chemistry is the study of all compounds that do not contain carbon compounds.

Also "organic" has lost much of its original meaning and many sources actually use chemicals now.
