Great information, I had 12 of these trees in Buckeye, AZ before moving back to Oregon. Eating the leaves provided great health benefits. Planing on growing them in my greenhouse in pots 😊

We have goats and chickens, and they love this stuff too. We have 2 right now. I plan on planting 5 in the front next spring to supplememt chicken and goat feed. You should check out the Chaya spinach tree. It grows amazing here also and taste better imo.

Have you noticed any changes in their manure? Do you use their manure for composting?

How invasive are the roots..im planning on planting these kind near the fence wall in the west side of our backyard to provide a good shade in future summer months
@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard Жыл бұрын
I believe they are a fine root with a deep tap Root that goes straight down, relatively speaking. As long as they are pruned and managed yearly they won't need an aggressive root system.

I'm just learning about this tree, it sounds amazing and like something I want. What are your thoughts about planting about 10 feet to the west of a pool? I am starting to think, this may not be a good choice for the area. Which makes me sad. :( Appreciate any feedback and thoughts!

I am having an opposite isssue here in Arizona.a The tree is waterelogged right now due to all the rain. My leaves are not looking well. The drumsticks are verye small and thin. I have 3 sticks that are in pots not doing so well either. Can you ohelp me? Where are you located? I need to know if I have to get better soil. This tree has been in the ground 9 years now and this year is the worst year. I am in Mesa, AZ My Jacaranda tree is also doing poorly. I have had that one 15 years. I am wondering if the heat last year affected it. The soil under the Jacaranda tree is too akaline.

All of our trees look like hell this time of year. Our Moringa is finally dormant, not pushing any growth. Wait till the end of March to prune it if you haven't already.
@AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard11 ай бұрын
We live in Surprise. The heat is over, it should have pushed out new growth in September and October.

Do you have a soil meter? It will tell you the ph, and moisture level. We use ours all of the time, it's one of the tools we use most on our property when checking soil conditions.
