It's a little labour-intensive, but you can put kleenex or toilet paper between the papers to dry the books out. Then you can straighten the pages out with a hairdryer on a low setting. Or press them flat by putting something heavy on them (like a stack of other, heavier books) :3

Thank you I will keep this in mind! Unfortunately these two books were unsalvageable!😅
