Today we need to pray for people. We must pray for those who left, family, friends, enemies, strangers and also for everyone who did good. May they rest in peace. GOD BLESS!!!!!

Heather! The gospel and the readings for a "bible chat" of sorts is such a good idea! I love that! It makes it so easy for moms with littles who don't have a lot of time to read their Bibles at length to still grow closer to God and His word in a more tangible way and with community which is even better! Thank you so much for doing this!

4:40 You should try listening to the “All Set for Sunday” podcast. The hosts are two laymen who meet with a priest each week, go over the upcoming Sunday readings, and the priest gives a homily. My daughter is 4 years old and I’ve been listening to them for years now because it’s nice to be able to know the readings and listen to a homily ahead of time in case I’m not able to be fully attentive in Sunday mass.

@ACatholicMomsLife Heather, Very helpful. I was wondering do you have a December and January checklist by chance? Also, could you do a video on Christmas Feasts Days and Liturgical Living like Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, for example? ✝️ 🎄🕯️

I have all grown children. But I still love to do this my husband and I. I do agree with you, I don't like to get out with the Christmas/Holiday crowds because I feel that it steals my happyness/peace. So I am so happy to have this. Thank you I would love or enjoy anything that you would share to make this time of the year less stress/peaceful, and enjoyable. God Bless

Saint Alphonsus Liguori has homilies for each Sundaybof the year. The group could read his homily together after doing the readings.

You know the first Sunday of Advent has a reading which housewives used to use as a reminder to start making Christmas pudding -- "Stir up our hearts, O Lord" (reminder to begin to stir the dried fruits or something)

I love the idea of reading a chapter of the Gospel of Luke from Dec. 1 to the 24th. I plan to do that this year. Also, on Dec. 12, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, when my children were small, we'd enjoy a Mexican supper and then read Tomie DePaola's The Legend of the Poinsettia and The Night of Las Posadas. We celebrated the Feast of St. Nicholas and St. Lucia, too - love the Advent observances as well as the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Thank you so much for organizing all this for us. I am going to implement a lot of these ideas. I have been praying about the devotional God wants me to use this Advent but never thought about any of these other things. Your advent planner is beautiful and will be so helpful to me this year. I use many of your printables - the one I use the most is for the 54-day rosary novena. ❤ I am also very excited about the Sunday readings.

I have an honest question and I truly hope someone answers. If Christmas is of God, why is it so expensive? Christians are commanded to commemorate Jesus' death and resurrection, what many Christians call Easter. But Easter is not an expensive holiday whatsoever. Some Christians may argue that the world has turned Christmas into a commercial holiday but if it is of God, how did it get so commercialized? Christians are suppose to adhere to the date of Jesus' death, but Easter is nowhere near as commercialized as Christmas. So I am just trying to understand why would God allow such an important day to become commercialized and expensive?
@ACatholicMomsLife Жыл бұрын
Hello, I understand you question and it is a great one! Christmas and Easter are meant to be a celebration, it was never meant to be expensive. People have free will to do what they want with celebrations, you can make it not expensive or go all out.
