i just got mine today. really love them and easy to cut to size. mine came uncut so i had to cut the dividers.i would suggest that when ordering that you also order one extra full lenght divider.this way i can use the case for different purposes.

I hate that plucking foam. It's so plucking difficult to use. But on a serious not, you just convinced me to finally buy the TrekPak system. I've been looking at it for a while. Thank you M.

This looks awesome and very useful....however....I'm not so sure I like the idea of everything being 'loose' in the case. I opt for the pluck foam because it is sooooo snug against all of my electronics, lenses, cameras, etc, and prevents them from moving around and getting jostled or damaged. How does this trekpak handle object moving and shifting during travel?
@MrCheesyCam9 жыл бұрын
Objects don't need to 'shift'. You can always add a lens pouch to your small lenses, an organizing case to your wireless receivers, add CF or SD Card Cases for your Media, battery case for your batteries, etc. I personally don't like 'loose' objects floating around even in my backpack, so I would normally have things placed into little plastic tackle boxes, lens pouches, etc.

Gotcha thanks! I'll look into these as they def seem to allow much more room then the stock foam...

Sully Cortez Yup. I purchased a bunch of cheap padded lens bags via eBay. This old article talks about those: cheesycam.com/lens-protection-neoprene-foam-padded-bags/

SO much better than any kind of pluck foam.
@Junabku6 жыл бұрын
it seems to me that the foam is more compact and wont llet things move inside better than the trekpak, i know both are safe but still get that feeling that foam is safer.

I guess it depends what you do with your gear. My cases are moved from car to set, never checked in to airlines. Been using them for a long time, never has an issue.

one of these divider kits for $200-300 or drop in a Vanguard Supreme Divider Insert what can be used as a case itself for $75-$90

Looks good but dont know if its good for abuse. Meaning travel. The pluck foam at least I know I can trust it. This new system I would love to see this used along with the pluck foam

Nice system. I like it. Now, I was wondering. Since the U-pins are only locked on the top portion, do you think (or in real world usage) the bottom portion will slide around, especially if you have an empty compartment where an object might push down on it due to gravity when you have the case rolling? How many U-pins do you have left? Perhaps that's enough to lock in the bottom portion. If not, perhaps through user feedback, they will provide more U-pins. Edit: Of course you'd have to build the entire assembly and then try to slide it in all at once into the case at the very last step.

The side parts are really snug and once you have the inserts in place they really stretch the padding out a bit. It would be a little work to pull the whole thing out.

MrCheesyCam Thanks.

huyked This has been around for a while, and many people are using the system all with good experience. The dividers are pretty snug, so there won't be much shifting around.

Are the dividers sturdy or would the bend if some weight is on it? Hoping to use the pelican upright and use the dividers as shelves to hold my gear. instead of having to lay it down flat all the time
@MrCheesyCam8 жыл бұрын
+Jordan S They are probably not best to be used as shelves.

I’m trying to get the whole film kit into one case. Doesn’t look like there is a divider that runs the length for a travel tripod. Is that correct?
@MrCheesyCam5 жыл бұрын
They also sell whole piece dividers on their website that you can custom cut any way you want. I have purchased some to make custom dividers on my other cases.

the thing that annoys me with all the organizers I've seen for the 1510 are all for cameras. I need something for a tech kit.

you can travel with Pelican 1510? airport security international?
@MrCheesyCam8 жыл бұрын
+Mauro Torres Laws are always changing and each airline might be different. I would check the specs of the airline you want to fly and compare the specs to the 1510. According to amazon the specs are 13.81 x 9 x 22 inches. amzn.to/24IRln5

The down side, no protection at the wheel hubs, and you can't just yank the whole thing out when you need to....
@MrCheesyCam9 жыл бұрын
+capwkidd I personally don't have a need for yanking everything out, and the areas of the wheel hubs are typically where I store non-fragile items like ball heads, friction arms, quick release plates, tools, etc.
