This is the third and final installment on building Ashley’s workbench. I’m building a whole bunch of tool organizers so Ashley has easy access to all of her crafting supplies. I also built some patterned plywood drawers, installed a work light, and installed drawer dividers. If you missed the rest of the build, I’ve put together a playlist • Alm Fab Workbench Play...
Patterned Plywood Playlist • Patterned Plywood
Plans for the Alm Fab Workbench are now available on my website www.almfab.com...

I love that you shared the hammer holder was a "fail". I find every project I make, even when Ive watched video tutorials or followed detailed plans, will have multiple fails and rewrites. its nice to see even professional wood workers work through the same things.

Man, that bench turned out SO GREAT! Ashley must be stoked, and you've timed it so your Valentines' gift is covered too! A twofer! My favorite feature is the integrated table on the right, and the laptop shelf is really smart. My 8 y/o daughter was drooling over the bench as Ashley filled it with all her craft supplies, and I could see her side-eyeing me as if to say "hey Dad, when you are you going to build ME one of those!" [SIGH] Thanks Michael. I'll add it to the list. ;^)

as always I love it, I used for my wife an aluminium panel with holes , like for workshops, then I primed and painted it white , and now it looks like a peg board, but can also use magnets , so the best of both worlds, and by just gluing magnets to whiteboards, was able to add them too

What an amazing and creative workbench - and people (y) :D I love the different plywood patterns, and I've taken screenshots from the videos and printed them out, with a link on the back "just" to one of the videos about making these. I'll only use Pine plywood for my workshop, jigs, etc., and practicing how to do make patterns and hopefully within a year or so I'll be skilled enough to make more and use Birch in small projects I can sell, as it's not cheap material to work with. And hard to find with many lairs. (3/4 inch Birch plywood, 11 lairs, 48x96 inch sheet: 330 US dollars Pine, has only max 7 lairs, and price is "only" 80 dollars ;) )

Great video. Gave me some great tool organizing ideas. I like the pliers rack, the wee lip on the shelf, the corbels, and the desktop riser shelf. Not a fan of the chisel rack with the exposed tool edges. Really cool technique of bandsaw re-sawing the small part using your clamp as a holder. Power and wire management are always issues, so I’d guess that a power strip under the front or side edge of the workbench will be a future improvement., rather than have your tool power cord cross your workspace. Small comments versus your huge effort in advancing workspace designs!

FWIW, your small supporting brackets are of the type called consoles rather than corbels. A corbel is a structural part of a wall that juts out to support something. A console is applied to a wall or surface to support something. If in doubt just say bracket.

For the router on the patterned plywood, if you had done it in 2-3 depth passes it might have survived a lot better. Taking full depth cuts on a router with delicate pieces is always asking for trouble. haha
