It’s a very nice build. I do think you should consider cutting the back out of the cubby where the fridge will go. Fridge compressors generate a lot of heat, and it would help the fridge if that waste heat could escape away from it more easily.

I listened to the related podcast (which was hilarious btw only, ‘cause, you know, been there, done that) before I watched this video. I was grinning watching the video because I knew the truth about how the project was really coming together. Couldn’t wait for the out takes! Great video. Oh, and your dado misplacement issue? That’s why I have a right tilt Unisaw. The tape measure on the fence remains accurate with a dado blade. I don’t understand the current preference for left tilt models.

I beg to differ about not putting out plans. There's really not that much custom about it as far as fitting into a niche. If someone wants a coffee/microwave station for any reason, or a appliance garage for mixers, air fryers, etc. I think this is a viable piece of furniture for a variety of applications. Glad you got your website back! Take care...
@FishersShopАй бұрын
I just wouldn't sell enough to make it worth it. If I price them at $5, I'd have to sell like 50 sets for it to be worth my while... and that just won't happen.
@murphymmcАй бұрын
A tip to consider: Instead of using 1/4" plywood on the back and then cutting, fitting, pocket screwing nailer strips in place, make the back out of the same plywood use used for the carcass. There isn't that much difference in cost, you save time and effort, you can put mounting screws anywhere needed. Sometimes a screw behind the adjustable shelf where it is well hidden until the shelf gets moved (which almost never happens). I've done crown mold using the flat on the table method you used, a fairly lengthy process and involves a lot of blade resetting. I stick to the "flip it upside down and cut a 45 degree" method. I've done thousands of feet of crown using that method, but do what works for you, as long as the joint fits, it's all good. Nice job on the project, it looks great.
@FishersShopАй бұрын
Yeah, saving on cost was my main objective as well as ease of install. I might try making everything out of 3/4" some time. Thanks for watching

So you can get or make "crown stops" to cut the crown nested and you don't need to bevel the saw. Also there are these Collins spring clamps (don't cheap out here get the name brand) that you can use to clamp miters while they dry. Advice from a finish carpenter btw

Instead of your “Super Trimmer 5000” why not use a flush trim bit on your router table and run it on that? That’s what I have been doing for years. Love your videos!
@FishersShopАй бұрын
Because if you don't hold it perfectly vertical, the bit can dig into the piece. Additionally, depending on the grain pattern of the edge banding, the bit can grab it and tear out sections. I've had both happen to me multiple times so I now use this method which works flawlessly.
@timmy5580Ай бұрын
@@FishersShop I have a bearing on top of the bit so it won’t dig in. If you don’t hold or piece perfect on the saw without a feather board it would also dig in. To each his own! Flat head screws will rule the world some day!
