I think you can get away with not having it at first. I only really used it when I transitioned my baby into her own room. Otherwise I didn’t use the rocker. I breastfed in my bed because you get too tired to move at night. Lol

Definitely get a rocker/glider! I got one with my first 8 years ago and now six kids later I still have the same one and it is soooo helpful!

Sarah Owen I forget the exact name of it but it was from Pottery Barn. Really any glider will work. I would not recommend a rocking chair because in my experience the gliders tend to be more comfortable!

I’m a week late and a little behind on videos buttt I am a ftm to a 3yr old. I found the rocker veryyy helpful for middle of the night breastfeeding. My girl rarely cried but when she did, I was always able to soothe her in the chair 😊

I order our groceries through shipt and get it delivered within an hour or 2. There is a yearly membership which gives you free delivery after $35 and we signed up during a new year sale so idk how much it was. It really helps us out, I can add to my cart knowing exactly what we need and we won’t go through the hassle of forgetting things or buying things we don’t need and it’s a great way to keep track of how much you spend.

I know it's not necessary but the rocker was were I spent sooooooo much time w my sweet girl... Rocking her, etc... Only thing I regret was not getting a nice one... I bought a wooden rocker and I regret spending the money on a nice cozy one!

Really, I think a rocker is a must have because it is so soothing to baby to rock them.. Also, great place to nurse little girl. Sorry Banner, but I think you need to buy one. I found one at a thrift store and painted it white. 💺🍼👼

Rockers are very highly needed. Some babies fall asleep better in a rocker. You need it to be prepared for your babies needs and what works better for her. It is an absolute necessity. It also may be batter for you.

Amazon fresh is actually amazing and it’s not pricy at all , instacart has a delivery fee but they have specials if you Get over a certain amount of products for a certain line it’s free. But I recommend amazon fresh over instacart

I have two babies and never used a rocker with both. My son is 2 1/2 months old and loves a mobile though! He is already sleeping through the night. If he wakes up, he watches his mobile and goes back to bed. My daughter will be 2 in November. She was born 32 1/2 weeks old. She just started sleeping the entire night.

I didn’t use a rocker with any of my kids but I think it’s just a preference... they are nice but I don’t think they are a have to have item.. so don’t feel bad if you don’t get one .. she is blessed so much and you don’t have to have it :)

What I would do is go on facebook marketplace and even find one for $25 that is super old, worn down and with stains or even just a wooden rocking chair...use it for a month or two until you can get the one from your mom and resell it for the low price you paid.

A rocker and or swing isn’t a necessity, some babies take to them well and others don’t. I do have one but I only use it when I’m trying to get something done around the house other than that I don’t want her relying on it so I try to steer clear. ( oh and haha, you folding cracked me up lol I figured everyone knew of those folding methods for small clothing)

Sarah Owen it has a big variety! Plus you can buy things from either amazon or Whole Foods so you can get both price ranges and if you don’t need groceries soon the delivery isn’t that bad but it’s super helpful for convenience variety and depending on how you shop price as well!! you could probably get away with holding off on rocker, I didnt even get up from my bed 90% of the day when my baby was newborn but highly recommend a swing to keep baby entertained for a while so you can eat, shower or just relax a bit

I would say if you’re going to breastfeed in her room, you need some sort of chair to sit in as soon as she’s home. If you’re able to sit-up in your bed and nurse her and she’s only going to be sleeping in your room for a bit, then you could probably get by without one for a little while, until she’s sleeping in her room. You could always try to not have one at first, and if you hate not having it then order one.

I’d say for the first month or so you don’t really need a rocker. You’ll probably be breastfeeding on the couch or in bed for the newborn stage anyway, and since baby girl will be sleeping in the bassinet in your bedroom for the first month or so, you’ll probably just take her into bed with you to feed in the middle of the night. So I’d say you’re fine holding off. For the record, I absolutely love my rocking chair, but I didn’t use it for my three babies consistently until they were at least a month old or so.

Sarah Owen well, my son sleeps in our room & the glider is in his room. He’s the least picky baby and I usually just nurse him to bed while on the couch and transfer him to his crib in my room. Sometimes I use my recliner, but otherwise he doesn’t need the rocking sensation. Patting his butt or using my body to bounce/rock works for him!
