I think I would put up a white or cream colored curtain across the bedroom closet, to just tone done the busyness of everything in there. Definitely need to do some more decluttering.

I think that’s great advice, the lack of door or cover on the wardrobe makes it look unnecessarily busy when that is an easy solve. I love the access/view to the garden space. For the tray with the oils, maybe there could be a lovely decorative box to hold the oils unseen on top of the tray so again the busyiness of that zone could be quitened. Space has great personality just needs a few more edits 👍

In 6 months you should do a season 2 of decluttering. I that point you will know the pain points of a cluttered space. And don't forget to declutter the storage spaces too!

I think the upheaval of decluttering and then moving space is a huge life change and Becky should now just relax, sit back, and enjoy her new environment. Which looks like it has the best vibe. I would definitely ducletter more, especially in the living room ... it needs some organization since it looks like chaos!!! I would also buy a slim shoe cabinet for the hallway to replace that open shelf. In addition, I love plants, but there are way too many ... maybe you can transfer some of the pots in the garden if the landlord approves ... anyway, I m impressed by the huge amount of clothes she previously got rid of, so now the closet looks much much better ... good job on that!!!

Another layout suggestion: move that small dresser next to the long dresser for one long dresser. Then swap green hutch and wood bookshelf. That may cover the light switch though. Get rid ot the side tables and just use the top of the dresser. Use only that little shelf next to closet for visual display then hid everything else and consolidate the plants to one area. Super cute over all!

You could trim the Pothos and propagate them and plant them back in the same pot to make them fuller, but not so long. Otherwise you could just hang the long vines up higher so that they don’t come down so much into your space. I’m a plant mom too, so I get it! I love the way that green piece of furniture goes with the plants and all creates this beautiful green over the backdrop of the white and the wood. 😍

I've checked for this video arrival multiple times, I mean when do I ever do that, or care so much?!!? I love this series and think you both did so well. Carla you are eligible for sainthood of decluttering!! It actually looks better than I thought it might - and so much better than her room did before. The most important part is how it feels for Becky. If it were mine, I'd trim at least another 1/3 but you'll figure it out as you go! The space is magical and the location is so cool!! Hopefully you feel settled and can start to see what is valued and what might just be stuff. Hope there will be another episode at some point!!

One idea that might help with decluttering clothes and household items is to find an organization that helps women moving out from a shelter or recent immigrants or folks like that who really need things to set them up in their new life. Your excess stuff could make all the difference for them. They really need it. It could help you to have that focus on where your stuff could actually help someone instead of sitting in storage at your place where NO ONE is using it.

The place and yard is great, but still needs much decluttering until if feels peaceful and calm (IMO). Whatever works for you is what matters. I LOVE how you can leave the windows open. Where I live my house would be full of mosquitoes, bees and maybe a bird or two!! :)

Becky has done great IMO🌻I would put a curtain across the bedroom closet to reduce the visual clutter. My brain needs somewhere calm to rest and I'd struggle to do that looking into my closet all the time. I think that Samson would have loved hanging out there with all the other pups. How lovely to see Becky’s home become more hers 💗 Im sure the decluttering and streamlining proces will continue in a pace that feels good for her. My ‘tip’ would be to group things for more visual peace: so put some plants together, some books, some knick knacks. It also helps me because its a sort of mini marie kondo move: you see how much you have of one sort of item and that makes it easier to see if you might want to let go of some. Love to see more of her place and progress ❤️ Ps i am a huge plant lover too, but last year i did donate a bunch of my indoor plants and that felt great because i just kept the ones that i love and that feel good in my space. Plus there are always people who will gladly adopt a plant 🍀

Put a tension rod inside the hall closet in front of the shelves to hang your towel so it gets air flow to dry, but it's out of the way.

I fell in love with this series so quickly Becky's personality and joy is contaigous, shes made such great progress and I'm so impressed with how everything is turning out for her! Shes so lucky to have a friend like you to help her in this journey you can tell decluttering is already having a huge impact on her life and in her space. For the plants try hooks for the walls (command strips would work too) for the vines to be able to spread throughout the wall I think it would look so pretty framing her bed :)

Glad Becky is settled. She has a great collection of little storage drawers and shelf units. Maybe they can be consolidated and more items could be up on the shelf in bins to free up some space. Plant parent here. I love your Fiddle Leaf Fig tree. 🪴 I'm minimalist in furnishings but I have a bunch of hanging and trailing plants in my bedroom also. I would recommend getting some clear command hooks to drape the long vines along the walls. It's like creating living art. This way you don't have to cut them if you don't wish to and you get to use the vertical space.

I find decluttering can sometimes be like dominos, becky you could just focus on one thing at a time now that youre getting settled. I love watching becky and carla, wish i had an old friend like this. So comfortable. Makes me miss my sister. Editing to add you could try using fishing line to kind of twirl the trailing vines onto and have them trail along tops of windows and doors?

To make your hanging plants fuller (such as your pothos) you can bend open bobby pins and pin the vine into the pot. This will help shorten them so that they aren’t so in the way as well!

I love Becky’s comfy, cozy, eclectic vibe with all the colors, plants, books, baskets and such. When she has time, it would be great to see area’s designed like a boutique. I have no advice on how to do this, but I imagine it’s like creating similar items together to showcase them, and maybe color(s) chosen to connect them all together. A type of Curation. In the loungeroom on the shelf under the tv, could baskets be used to store things on the shelf. May be more aesthetically pleasing.

As someone who moved to a smaller place and did massive decluttering a couple of suggestions. Think about the items you have multiples of (hats, purses, candles, blankets, on and on). Do you really need several of these items? Do you really use them? Keep only your favorites. Art work same thing. It really adds to the clutter visually. Maybe rotate a few pieces and do not hang them high but at eye level. KEEP AT IT AND give yourselves at-a-girls. You have done great so far.

I love plants too, I think you should chop all your trailing vines and plant the trimmed bits back into the pots. Especially the one in your bathroom. It will make them look bushier. You could also combine some of your pothos, give yourself an epic giant beauty of a plant and make it a focal point in a corner.

Nice painting of your parents. Both my SIL ‘s have one too. I love your hanging Pothos plants. I have those in my house. They’re the only plants I can keep alive. 😂 I do have a suggestion, if you trim the ones that are looking a little bare up towards the top you can put the clippings in water and once they take root you can pot in soil and give them away to friends and family. My mom gave me two when I moved into my apartment 25 years ago. They have had many hijitos over the years. Some stayed here and some have been gifted. My mom has been gone for 21 years now and I feel like her love keeps flourishing and giving beauty and life to others this way. She used to hang them near a wall and use push pins to guide the trellis of leaves around her frames. I think that could look beautiful above your bed. Such a fun lifelong friendship! The place is looking great, Becky! I bet as time goes by, more decluttering will occur organically thanks to those good muscles you've been building. Also, you'll probably find good storage and organizing solutions along the way. I lived in a similar small space in NYC for 20 years - it just becomes exhausting trying to find things and keeping the space clean. It's healthier both physically and mentally to have less stuff. Way to go Becky❤❤❤ A trick I had for hanging my towel in my first place. I had a small bathroom as well. I put an S hook on the shower curtain rod to hang my towel on after my shower . I hung the towel on it by the tag.

I live in the desert southwest where you can dust and two days later it looks like you haven't dusted in a month. I limit 3 items on any flat surface because that's all I'm willing to move when I dust. I can't imagine dusting all those belongings, but she's young and spry and I'm old and tired. LOL!

Becky An idea for your desk: I don’t know how strong your walls are so I don’t know if you can actually hang your computer screen from the wall or maybe make a frame of some sort that you put behind your desk and hang the computer screen from the framework. That would free up a lot of real estate on your desk making your desk easier to use. If you made a framework to hang your computer screen from, you could change the height as you needed perhaps. Or if you used one of those _arms_ which you would attach to the back of your desk and then the computer screen could be set to different angles and hightail as you needed it and as you liked it to be.😅 Window shades I was worried about your windows. I’m glad you got some shades! Love them.

I just finished reading Necessary Endings and it was a life changing read for me. It even helps me understand that there is an end to our things… and it’s ok to let go. Letting go leads to growth ❤
