I think purging some of them will actually bring you some relief. It’s hard to let go, but once you do it, it’s so freeing! I’m looking forward to seeing which projects you will keep and work on in the future❤️

Thank you for showing this. I too have many unfinished projects, which were making me feel like a failure "Oh I can start something, but can't stick with it" sort of feeling. You've made me feel so much better. I can see it now as a natural part of crafting. Thank you, again xx

I have quit doing it because I ran out of room and was forced to recycle. Moved a couple times. Paper and books are super heavy! ~ okay I will wish you luck! Thanks for being transparent about your growth too! Amazing how our love for paper artistry etc., causes change. I love recycling! I know nothing goes to waste! GOOD LUCK!

You’ve got this! I wish I could help, I love sorting and organizing. I’ve got to say, it’s really impressive how organized your UFOs (unfinished objects) are. Each thing in its own basket. That’s going to be a big help when sorting, instead of having to go through one huge pile of stuff. And I realized my style has changed and it made it easier to let go of some things if I thought about them in that way. Your time is too valuable to be finishing things you don’t like the style of anymore. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing the updates.

Yes I also get caught up in seeing things differently when I haven't seen them in a while. I will be looking at the time it would take to finish things to decide if I will keep it. I don't have that many hours in a day for everything.

This probably feels very overwhelming for you, please be gentle with yourself during this process. Another idea that you might consider, is selling some of the unfinished projects with other items ephemera etc. My wish for you is that this process will be cathartic 🙂Please don’t berate yourself, as you’ve said your style has changed and will continue to evolve. You have the unique opportunity to see just how far you’ve come artistically. Some advice if I may...you’ve mentioned that you tackled this task in 2018; as you go thru these projects perhaps you can also ask yourself, what caused you to put this particular project aside. In doing this, I am positive that you will discover a pattern, by digging deeper into the why of the matter, this knowledge will enable you to move forward enlightened and cognizant as you craft in the future. I wish for you peace and joy even as you make some tough decisions. Thank you for sharing, hugs, Debra Marie

When I started this in 2018 I didn't finish. The reason I have so many projects is because I make videos for tutorials and to answer questions. My Live Streams were mostly projects for my "audience". I have transitioned to fewer live streams so I have mostly put those projects aside. Going forward I would like to spend more time on my personal projects and not projects for everyone else. Thank You for your encouragement!

This kind of organization looks painful at first glance, but you'll get so much insight and oxygen from the process that you'll feel your artistic self grow up and thrive. And who wouldn't like to look through such incredible and amazing art? It makes me think of a drawer of old notebooks that I decided to organize after decades of fear and avoidance. I ended up enjoying my crazy old thoughts and ideas, collected all the written pages on a big folder and kept the rest of the blank books for future use ( some became art journals). The end result was that I felt a lot lighter and surprised in a positive way about things I had written so long ago. Remember: have fun.

I am having luck with 12x12 boxes that I buy in packs of 4 from Sam's club. The problem I have is that I have run out of them 😬 but I think keeping the "in-progress" things to a certain amount or to fit in a certain space really helps keep projects in perspective
@Kagedfish4 жыл бұрын
I tried those boxes but they are too big to store for me. Many of my projects are heavy and when I stack too many on top of each other the boxes sometimes get crushed.

Thanks for the good intentions and trying to stage an intervention for me. 😂 Too late. I have stacks of stuff I need to go through too. Good luck with the organizing. It’s okay if your style has changed. You’ll be able to see how you grew over time. It’s okay if the pages don’t “match”.

If you wanted to keep but not finish/fill up a project book, maybe gather several ufos in a ?folio or clamshell box. I am thinking of an oversized book with my UFOs stitched in...some small ones to share a signature spot on spine (like your 3 section books), others stitched in wherever on sljne I want. Hmmm, maybe all should start at bottom of spine for standing book on shelf and to leave max room for smaller future ufos......cool thought break. Thank you.
@Kagedfish4 жыл бұрын
I have already put aside some smaller UFOs and will take them apart and put finished pages together in a single cover. Yes some of the pages/signatures will become a three tier book or more. Thanks for the ideas!

Would love to help you if I could, but the other comments below seem to be there for you. But I can understand the frustration, I have stuff I've been trying to sort through (do I want to keep or not keep) but every time I try to work on such, I get interrupted by chatter. Anyway, good luck to you, I know you'll figure it out. I haven't even got to make my signatures, much less anything else. Take care my friend and God bless you. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas

I don't see a mess, I see potential, separate the "I will finish this" and the I can take this apart and reuse these., an then put extra goodies in with items you sell, the rest you can toss or give away. I watched your other post first, and I like it, I noticed you have an HP lap top, what kind of camera do you have hanging from the shelf bracket, and what did you use to film the post. Do you edit your posts or write out exactly what you will do like a script? Thanks for sharing.
@Kagedfish4 жыл бұрын
Yes that is the plan but it will take time. The web cam hanging is a Logitech 920? I think, I used my Canon Powershot to film the room. I do not do any kind of editing and do not write out a script, I find when I have tried to do this I sound very fake. I go over in my mind what I want to say and just go with it. What you see is what you get, I'm not perfect. I sometimes misspeak, make mistakes and get sidetracked. I have learned to live with it.
