So so far ahead of their time. I mean the world had just come out of nirvana nirvana and it was korn central at the time. Orgy were amazing and wouldve killed it around bloc party time. Orgy were amazing
Totally mindblowing, the soundtrack of my adolescense. Thank you for this awesome video.

Damn, this is amazing footage. Orgy had such a unique sound, the guitar tones are fucking brilliant. Curious what their tuning and pedal boards were all about.

I know that Amir had two guitar synths (Roland Gr-700 and Roland GR30) that were the main gear that he would use to get the sound, along with chorus, phaser and hyper fuzz pedals. And Ryan had some modulation and distortion pedals to make his guitar sound like a synth. You can know more about their gear on a website called "Equipboard". Amir also had a website where he would show all the gear that he used, but unfortunately it only works if you access it through Wayback Machine. As for the tuning, from what i remember seeing on that website, they tuned to Drop A# to give a really heavy sound to the guitar.

This is the real life version of back to the future when Michael j fox played guitar solo and the crowd just stare at each other mouth gaping open wondering wtf did I just hear. There will never be a cooler kick ass band one of a kind.

really? :( you mean on backing?
@birchmahogany27182 жыл бұрын
There's a video of them from 2022. It's actually really good, different line up but it's on point, I was surprised. Drums are a regular kit but it still sounds good.

@@birchmahogany2718could you send me the link, I really want to see jay singing without relying on the crowd

He never stopped singing completely live lol. Only thing that has changed is how he performs Blue Monday. He lets the audience sing that one for him because he loses his place in the song a lot (it's the only song he didn't write🤷🏽♀️) And I can honestly say I haven't once heard him get that song correct after the year 2000🤣🤣. So he's not bullshitting about that lol.

God damn I love Orgy. We got a song up, i used similar effects as amir does in the leads. Band sounds more korn and LP influenced, but some of you might dig it !

Where can we find your stuff? Would like to check it out. What effects, setup, gear, did you use to get similar effects to Amir?

probably 'cause there are like 10 persons in the audience?

probably because they were opening for love and rockets. goth fans didn't like orgy.

did they ever play platinum live? i guess its not a really a song that could get a crowd going.
@sasama21147 жыл бұрын
Yes, according to Setlist FM, they played Platinum 3 times, the first on First Avenue in Minneapolis, the second on the Quest Club in Minneapolis as well, and the third, which I do not think is the last one, was at Mancow's Lazer Luau II at Ankeny Airfield in Iowa
@KeepItFresh027 жыл бұрын
ah thats cool to know. ive always wondered. ive seen them when I was a 13 year old kid in 1999 but I dont remember at all what they played. I wish there was a recorded live video of them playing Platinum.
@sasama21147 жыл бұрын
I'd really like to see a video of their show at the Hammerstein Ballroom, which was on July 13, 1999, I really liked the setlist! The songs in the order were: Dizzy, Dissention, Gender, All The Same, Fetisha, Fiend , Stitches, Pantomime, Sonic and Blue Monday
@colinmiller88244 жыл бұрын
The show I'd love to see from this era is Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, May 17, 1999 The setlist goes like this: Dizzy Social Enemies Fetisha All The Same Platinum Dissention Revival Stitches Blue Monday

Platinum was on the 'Follow the Leader' bonus CD. It's the song that got me into Orgy. Had some great tunes on that bonus CD.
