Haha mouths are tricky! I also like how the environment just sorta seemed to spring up around the characters. You seem to have a really solid handle with backgrounds. Love your stuff. Looking forward to the new channel!

Sorry for butting in with an answer, but I've run into that problem too XD. Go to Window>Brush and uncheck Shape Dynamics. You could also change the minimum diameter in Shape Dynamics to something like 90% rather than the much lower default. You can make a new brush from those settings to use strictly for shift+click lines :).
