Orianthi - Shreds The Guitar

Orianthi, guitarist, came to 105.7 Hit Music Now in Greensboro, NC on 11/09/2009. She played two songs and then "Shredded" on the electric guitar.

I say bring on more real rock chicks, too many women are presented in music in their underwear or short skirts singing catch phrases everyone else has sung... Suzi Quatro, The Runaways, L7 etc that's what I'd prefer my Daughter to aspire to rather than Mass produced Barbie Dolls in "pop music" I guess that's where I was heading...but any girl that picks an instrument over binge drinking & a bong is awesome to me. :)

The reason she has any notoriety at all, is because she's a hot chick who is pretty good at guitar. If she was a guy, or a fat chick nobody would care. When was the last time you heard from Shannon Curfman? She is a fine guitar player, but she isn't a virtuoso.

Orianthi Panagaris is a guitar wizard. Don't judge her here because she's just warming-up. A short listening to "Lights of Manos", "Believe" or her version of "Give in to me" shows that she's not just a shredder but plays with feel (which makes a heck of a difference).
