I use an Orico 3.5" enclosure for my old 3.5" hard drives. However those require power. I'd probably get a 500gb or 1tb 2.5" drive and an Orico 3.5" enclosure. The quality of these enclosures are awesome. Making your own external HDDs are better than pre-made ones. Cheaper too! Great review.

Thumbs up. Your review is still relevant. Best to have a off switch and an enclosure which does not have that play in it. Thumbs up.

Lol, I watched your reviews on SATA Cases before I purchased one.. Mine is from "Aukey", thats funny because the packaging and the USB 3.0 Sata Case is one by one the same, just the logo is from Aukey... it's also funny because they provide drivers which are from Orico :D

I bought this last week for 9.99 too as in impulse buy from an Amazon mail shot. I am glad it was half price. Need to get a new USB cable as the one that came with it is a bit poor. Does its job.

These are selling on sale right now for around $8. Your review is the fourth I viewed and the first that gave a benchmark. That said, in the future please try to use a faster drive to saturate the connection, maybe a Samsung, to know if the connector is truly worthy of the USB 3.0 title. Thank you.

Hi Aacat, would you recommend this for an 128gb ssd I have lying around?
@AAComputersandTechnology8 жыл бұрын
+TruckSimz I was great with my SSD, so I would have to say yes! Just keep in mind that this enclosure will not be able to max out a USB 3.0 port and depending on you drive speeds it may not be utilized to its full potential while in the case.

The first two things I would do is 1 check disk management to see if the drive is reading properly or needs formatting and 2 check device manager to see if the usb enclosure is showing up properly (if you see any unknown devices then you will need to have Microsoft search for the drivers)

maybe the tape you put on should sit on the bottom but cut to the shape then it cant move anywhere I like that though also can you boot from that drive let say windows or Linux ?

should I upgrade to an ssd or a hybrid drive ? im impatient but I still need space .
@AAComputersandTechnology8 жыл бұрын
+31337 Clan I have never used a hybrid drive so I cannot say. If you need storage space and speed why not get the best of both worlds and use a small SSD for your OS and a large HDD for your storage needs.

The connector for the ish is just a deformed micro b connector so you could even plug in a micro b cable into the drive and use it as a 2.0 HDD instead
