I prefer the Maliki Madhab because of the distinction between Hadith and Sunnah. It makes more sense that the Sunnah would be a living tradition in the city of the Prophet (AS) and that it would survive for at least a few generations. We naturally learn how to practice by watching and learning from others. Not by combing through volumes of Hadith books.

@Historyun

@@kamlasayeen wa Aleikum Salam. Great question. As a matter of fact, there is one that the Malikiyyah holds onto very dearly, it is the following narration “Very soon, people will beat the flanks of camels in search of knowledge, and they shall find no-one more knowledgeable than the knowledgeable scholar of Madinah” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhi Grade: Hhasan Saheeh Al-Tirmidhi, al-Qadi `Iyad, Dhahabi and others relate from Sufyan ibn `Uyayna, `Abd al-Razzaq, Ibn Mahdi, Ibn Ma`in, Dhu’ayb ibn `Imama, Ibn al-Madini, and others that they considered that scholar to be Malik ibn Anas. On this topic, some of the more zealous students of Imam Malik later on fabricated Hadith against Imam Shafi' forewarning of "a man whose heart is that of a devil, he will be worse than Dajjal" Ironically, Imam Shafi' was severely opposed by some of these zealous Maliki disciples and they physically assaulted him. He was himself a student and companion of Imam Maalik for 16 years in Madinah however the jealousy of his fellow peers blinded them to his brilliance. It's a long and interesting topic that we may delve into one day

Love seeing young muslim start thinking about madhabism. I am Sunni because I believe companions and wives of prophet were all good people, then I am Shafii and Ashari since I was taught this way, the teachers that sorround me were and are Shafiis, and being a Shafii is just to follow the footstep of those teachers. I believe any school are equal in applying Sunna, I think you should feel free to practice any madhhabs, picking any of them is just all about pursuing baraka, what are the school you can experience the most of mercy of God for you. Just make sure you are considerate while ‘using’ madhhabs as vehicle for your endless spiritual journey. People will have different thought though.

Main differences between Ibadi and Sunni. 1) The Ibadi believe that we have the Qur'an Allah intended for us to have as well as the entire Qur'an. Where as the Sunni believe that in many cases there are whole chapters and verses of the Qur'an lost via mass amnesia. 2) The Sunni believe in a Prophet will come after Muhammed (saw) named Jesus (as) who will defeat some Dajjal but than Jesus (as) and his army are overcome by insects. The Ibadi believe that Muhammed (saw) actually is the last and final Prophet. That Jesus (as) was sent only to the children of Israel. He is not a universal prophet. He (Jesus) died and is not coming back. 3) The Sunni believe in the hadith of the card and that a any person who says la ilaha il law lah will eventually go to heaven regardless of their sins (murder, rape, molestation) -one does not need to repent. The Ibadi believe that any individual who does not repent of major sins is going to the hellfire. Repentance and transformation of the heart is essential for salvation. 4) The Sunni over all believe that a believing Muslim can go to hell fire (for a period of time maybe billions of years) but will eventually enter paradise. The Ibadi have searched the Qur'an have not found a single verse about believers going into the hellfire. This is a Jewish belief. 5) The Sunni have cursed some companions calling them 'dogs of the hellfire'. For example Hurqus ibn Zuhair (ra) Though this information they kept on the DL. The Ibadi have pointed out that the companions had differences among each other and calling someone a sinner or stating that such and such a companion sinned is a statement of fact not an insult. 6) The Sunni are spilt on the issue of rather or not the Qur'an is created or not. Some of them say the mushaf (the text) is and that the Qur'an is eternal in lawhul mahfuz. Many, Sunni Muslims will not point to the Qur'an and say it (the mushaf) is created. In fact ask they them to do so. Ask them if the Arabic text in the pages is created. Should be very easy to do. 7) The Ibadi believe that this issue relates to rather or not Jesus (as) is created or eternal and uncreated. “When the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word (bikalimatin)from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah]. (Qur’an 3:45) Is Jesus as the word of Allah created or uncreated? Mohammed Hijab said: “And than then you have another set of sifat or attributes of Allah called Sifat Al Ikhtiyariyah or Sifāt Fi’liyyah -which are the verbal attributes.” “So some of the uh some of the examples of those is like speech Allah wills to speak he shall speak if he wills not to he will not. If Allah wills to create he will create. If he wills not to he will not.” Excellent! So if Allah (swt) wants to speak he will speak. If he wants to create he will create. Just as what he creates is not eternal neither is that which he speaks. He has the ability to do both. This is exactly the position of the Ibadi school. 8) The Sunni say that Allah has attributes that are neither identical to his essence nor other than his essence. A type of static relationship between the essence of Allah and his attributes. 9)The Ibadi do not make this distinction. Nor wrestle with this. The Ibadi position is most sound historically, and in matters of doctrine.

By the way I doubt Imam Abu Hanifah being student of Imam Jafar Assadiq as Imam Abu Hanifah was older then Imam Jafar Assadiq and I read an incident of talk between Imam Baqir and Imam Abu Hanifah regarding Fiqh and Imam Baqir kissed Imam Abu Hanifah's forehead after getting his brilliant response... Also check Imam Bukharis teachers, some of them are students of students of Imam Abu Hanifah and both Imam Abu Hanifah and Imam Malik have consensus that there is only one Rafaul Yadain in the beginning of Salaat.. and by far followers of Hanafi mazhab is greatest in number... So it is requested to give full respect to all the Imams and specifically the Imam Al Azam Rahmatullahi Alaihim Ajmaeen

Being older than someone doesn't prevent a person from taking knowledge from a younger teacher. Imam Ahmed talks of this when he and his peers joined the circles of the young Imam as-Shaafi' in Makkah. You are using your logic rather than relying on the textual evidences. It is an established and undisputable fact that both Malik and Abu Hanifa were students of the great Imam Jaa'far as-Sadiq. You appear to be championing the Hanafite school over the others whereas the entire premise of this presentation is to highlight the fact that there is greater benefit in understanding and appreciating the complexity and connections between all those schools in the first century. Sectarian divide comes about from blind following and needless argumentativeness. To each his path, no need to put one Imam down at the expense of the other (the term Imam wasn't used for other figures too, but you are only concerned about Abu Hanifa being 'respected') Let us rise above these petty and useless squabbles. Development of Madhab is a natural progression as without the development, a large and complex life of muslim in cosmopolitan setting could not be addressed. Hadith is repository where as fiqh or madhab is jnderstanding of it. To follow hadith blindly is akeen to reading without understanding and wisdom. Anybody can bd literate but not everyone can be learned. To know how to apply hadith and Sunnah can not be achieved without fiqh or madhab.

Indeed ~ Not everything that is worshipped instead of Allaah can be considered to be taaghoot. The most correct scholarly view concerning the meaning of the word Taaghoot is that of Ibn Jareer al-Tabari, who said in his Tafseer (3/21): The correct opinion concerning Taaghoot, in my view, is that it refers to everyone who arrogates to himself a position that is befitting only for Allaah, and so is worshipped instead of Him, either by forcing others to worship him or by accepting their willing worship. The one that is thus worshipped may be a human being, or a shaytaan (devil), or an idol, or a statue, or some other being. He also said that the root of Taaghoot implies putting oneself in a higher position and overstepping the mark. The Prophets, scholars, righteous people and awliyaa’ (those who are close to Allaah) did not force people to worship them or obey them in such a thing. On the contrary, they issued the sternest warning against it. The purpose behind Allaah’s sending Messengers to mankind was to call them to believe in Allaah alone and to disbelieve in other gods besides Him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): ‘Worship Allaah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taaghoot (all false deities, etc. i.e., do not worship Taaghoot besides Allaah)…” [al-Nahl 16:36] And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And (remember) when Allaah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): “O ‘Eesaa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: ‘Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allaah?’ ” He will say: “Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner‑self though I do not know what is in Yours; truly, You, only You, are the All‑Knower of all that is hidden (and unseen). “Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allaah) did command me to say: ‘Worship Allaah, my Lord and your Lord.’ And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them; and You are a Witness to all things” [al-Maa’idah 5:116-117] If people worship Prophets or scholars instead of Allaah, we should not apply the word Taaghoot to the object of their worship. If people exaggerate about al-Shaafa’i or any other scholar (may Allaah have mercy on them), and call upon them for help instead of Allaah, or worships their graves, there is no sin on those scholars; on the contrary, the burden of sin is on the one who associates others in worship with Allaah (Shirk). The same is true in the case of the Christians who worship ‘Eesaa (Jesus - peace be upon him) alongside Allaah. ‘Eesaa (peace be upon him) will not bear any part of their burden of sin. A brief definition of Taaghoot is: whoever is worshipped instead of Allaah and accepts that. It is well known that ‘Eesaa (peace be upon him) and other Prophets, and also al-Shaafa’i and other scholars who believed in Allaah alone (Tawheed) would never accept to be worshipped instead of Allaah. On the contrary, they forbade that and preached the message of Tawheed. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And (remember) when Allaah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): “O ‘Eesaa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: ‘Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allaah?’ ” He will say: “Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner self though I do not know what is in Yours; truly, You, only You, are the All Knower of all that is hidden (and unseen). “Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allaah) did command me to say: ‘Worship Allaah, my Lord and your Lord.’ And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them; and You are a Witness to all things” [al-Maa’idah 5:116-117].

Salafism is the ideological secular opposition to Fiqh. Not sure why you call it "Madhabism". However as you well know, it was championed by the Sauds and Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab. Salafists have liked to strategically rubbish fiqh since their inception not too long ago, taking aim at Hanafi's and Ashari/Maturidi's due to the Ottomans using this fiqh for their state laws. It is pitiful that many people dont see the correlation here and the trend of Arab nationalism started by the British to achieve their own aims. They belittle Imam Abu Hanifa in their quest to justify their positions at worst and at best, try to make him out to be something he was not, again to justify their own ridiculous stances. He was a Tabi'een afterall and not a person to be taken lightly, eschewing righteousness against oppressors and championing the cause of Islam while being a genius. All Madhabs have their interprerations and it is valid to interpret from the Quran and Hadith. The Prophet Muhammad SAWS encouraged this, which is why it is done. To act like the Salafi scholars are the only valid scholars is laughable but exactly what Salafists are happy to say. It is possible but very unlikely. In the balance it probabilities, it's far more reliable than a written report attributed to a handful of people And it's 1000 for a 1000, meaning 1000 people who learn or witnessed something identical from 1000 relatives and neighbours through an unbroken chain of transmission

Not to cause conflict but to state evidence backed stances, the Sunni view is that all great Imams of Ahlul Bayt did not have the views the Shias do today. They will deny this but there are plenty of evidences for the Imams having love for all sahaba especially Abu Bakr and Umar. In fact Zayd was deserted by many of his so called followers after showing unwavering support for them, to which he called them the ‘Rafidah’. That’s why traditional Sunnis love and accept them all and it’s a fact they taught the Imams. Shafi’i took from Sayyida Nafisa. Malik and Abu Hanifa took from Jafar and Abu Hanifa is famous for saying “If it wasn’t for the 2 years I spent with Jafar as Sadiq I would have perished”. Sayyidina Zayd also taught Imam Abu Hanifa and Abu Hanifa even gave financial support for Zayds uprising. Sayyidina Jafar as Sadiq’s mother was Sayyida Umm Farwā Fātimā bint Imam Qāsim bin Muhammad. His maternal grandfather was Imam Qāsim bin Muhammad bin Abū Bakr, the grandson of Sayyidina Abū Bakr as-Siddīq raziyallahu anhum. His maternal grandmother was Asmā bint Abdur-Rahmān bin Abū Bakr, also a granddaughter of Sayyidina Abū Bakr. Thus he is reported to have said that “I was born by Abu Bakr twice”, referring to his maternal grandparents who were cousins and grandchildren of Sayyidina Abu Bakr. Imam Rabbani Shaykh Ahmed Sirhindi says in his Maktūbat that this may also refer to the fact that he was born in the noble family of Abū Bakr both physically and spiritually, as he received the spiritual secret of Sayyidina Abū Bakr as-Siddīq from his grandfather Imam Qāsim bin Muhammad. (This inheritance would become the spiritual Path of the Naqshbandis)

@@Al_Sirat_Al_Mustaqeem It’s not to do with Sunni/Shia split thought, as his own brother Sayyidina Muhammad al Baqir did not join the revolt. The fact that’s Imam Abu Hanifa gave financial support (he was very wealthy) for the revolt against tyranny/corruption is enough said. Of course Ulema will have differing opinions but without doubt all traditional Sunnis love Sayyidina Zayd bin Ali. There are many examples of Imams of Ahlul Bayt turning away from war and fitna like that of Moulay Idris of Morocco and Ahmad bin Isa al Muhajir the grandfather of the Ba Alawis of Yemen both families of which are strong Sunnis. And as for not fighting or even criticising tyranny as they are the ‘rulers’ is only a position of the Wahabi/Saudi influenced scholars due to misunderstanding of a certain hadith. The original one who stood against tyranny was Sayyidinal Hussayn, and who could ever question him (apart from Wahabis who praise Yazeed nauzubillah)

When it comes to balad al Kufa Sufyan Ath Thawri رحيم الله has more rights in terms of being from the Ulemah of Kufa than Abu Hanifa. The Salaf made Jarh of Abu Hanifa when it came to the matter of Irja and choosing qiyas over the Hadith when it came to him.
@Historyun

However nobody today is following the Madhab of Sufyan and Abu Hanifa has influenced the greatest number of Muslims in the history of Islam (in terms of Madhahib). There was no greater scholar than Abu Hanifa coming out of Kufa. It is enough that the likes of Imam as-Shaafi' are students of his students and Imam Ahmad a student of his student of his student
@Abuhafsahalsalafi
@Abuhafsahalsalafi 5 ай бұрын
@@HistoryunI see where you were going with this. But I’m pointing out when it comes to the matter of Abu Hanifa the Jarh still remains upon him between him and Sufyan likewise the jarh of other imams like Imam Al Awzai criticized him as well as Sufyan Ibn Uyanah and Imam Ash Shafii also Imam Ahmad and Ibnul Mubarak. Ahlul Sunnah affirms Abu Hanifa as a scholar but Qadhi Abu Yusuf had to correct a lot of mistakes from his Madhab due to disagreements in Hadith application and too much opinion being put over the text. Too be fair the Ahnaf of old aren’t like those today from the likes of the maturidiyah which ascribe a false aqeedah which they promote between the brelivis and deobandiyyah. Almost in comparison with the ashirah and the shafiiyah of Azhar. My main point is though that people over praise Abu Hanifa ascribing to him which is not befitting for him a lot of it is ghuluw. But they completely dismiss the Jarh and throw Sufyan being an imam from Kufa out the window or defame the likes of the madhab of Al Imam Ahmad for putting the Hadith and the Ijma of the Sahabah above qiyas.

@@Abuhafsahalsalafithat would lead to the logical conclusion that the vast majority of Muslim in history were followers of an Imam who didn't quite understand Islam properly. @Abuhafsahalsalafi
@Abuhafsahalsalafi 5 ай бұрын
@@Historyun Of course perfection belongs with Anbiya Wa Rasoul Alaihum As Salaatul Wa Salaam without a doubt. The notion that I was pointing to is the ghuluw of today’s followers of Abu Hanifa. Calling him Imam Al A’zam is going way too far in my view because of the valid Jarh that is made by the Salaf against him. As stated previously he’s still accepted as an imam but the people today may be in large number followers of the madhab of Ahnaf. But Ahlul Sunnah doesn’t use numbers as proofs that’s why the status of Imams like Imam Ahmad and Ishaq Ibn Rahwayh are noted and respected for their efforts. But in todays time people throw away the Jarh based off their emotions and go into another extreme with being oh Abu Hanifa is the only one who has a valid Madhab so they believe they can revile Imam Ash Shafii, Ahmad, Al Baani even the Sheikhayn “two sheikhs” Sheikh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab. Today’s Ahnaf almost raise Abu Hanifa to the status of The Prophet Alayhi Salaatul WaSalaam Wa Iyadhu Billah. Meaning the Hadith would say one thing but they take the opinion of Numan Ibn thabibt.
