This game used to be half pay2win years ago. Now it’s clearly free to play. All the free obtainable generals are good enough to win everything. Especially now that they’ve updated them.

I beat Stalingrad and Pearl Harbor defensive events on hard with non maxed out f2p generals and low level elite units. That's how easy this game is.
