Yep on cassette! Those were the days. Not even sure any cassettes exist anymore that still has this. They did put in on a compilation CD years later tho. I remember buying it at the wall. Who remembers "The Wall" music store. Free lifetime guarantees with the little blue sticker, no questions asked or receipt needed.

I'm an old white guy (59 years, as I'm writing this); my oldest son had me listen to this song somewhere in the '90's.... he would occasionally bring me music to listen to, that he thought I might appreciate... rap has never been one of my favorite expressions but, dammit, when you hear genius, you have to acknowledge it... this is pure genius... dunno who all these ppl posters are alluding to, but this a fucking great song. My son was KIA in Iraq in 2007, and I can't help but wonder what else he would have had me listening to... Lord willing, he will rest in peace.

2:40 This one hits home...I knew about Bone when da 1st of the month was released in 95. My best friend introduced me to da crossroads at 13. Instantly, I became one of their biggest fans. He lent me the 'E 1999 Eternal's" cassette, but it creeped me out lol. I looked at it like WTF? Skeletons, cemeteries, crystal balls? What in the voodoo is going here? LMAO. Unfortunately, my best friend passed away in 2001. Interestingly, I remember the last few encounters we had. He played "Ain't mad at cha"/Pac, C U when you get there/Coolio, It's hard to say Good bye/Boys to men, One sweet day/Mariah Carey. I didn't speak English back then. Now, I realized he was indirectly saying good bye. R.I.P.

This version is the original version as some have said. But this song was made for Wally. And it was actually released, and I have the album. I'm a real bone fan. But after the album was done, or around the time. Layzie baby died, Eazy, uncle Charlie, Boo, etc all died around the same time. Giving them the remix. Then later Tombstone died, crazy time for these talented brothers

32, and this song still speaks to me the same way. Still a Top 10 favorite song of all-time, and I hate that this version isn't on Spotify. Side note: Scrolled through the comments, and I love seeing all sorts of ages, races, and genders coming together and knowing what's up. I love y'all for real, and I'm sorry for those that have lost so many loved ones up to now and hereafter. Bless. 🙏🏿

They're to this day (19 & 20) forever BONE HEADS & recall this as their favorite memory as well. Love those kids to the death a me

as a rule, i don't like rap, hip hop and so forth... but as with any rule, there are exceptions. My son brought this song to my attention in the late 90's, dunno exactly when, and I fell in love with it. It opened my eyes as to how music could reach across boundaries when it's heartfelt and meaningful. I'm now a 58 year old white guy, (was white back then too, btw) and this is one of my favorites of all time.

This was such a unique song when it first came out. One of the best songs on the album and that's saying something. I had the tape, played this one song so much, it snapped right in the middle of it... I went out and bought the cd to replace it and that's when I discovered the remix. I remember as a teen in the 90s (41 now) I got the E. 1999/Eternal album and when I saw Crossroads I was expecting the song everyone knew. When I heard this initially I was disappointed it wasn’t that song. But after a few listens this song became my preferred version. Now it’s so hard to find this version. I still like this one even though the other version is more well known. Only true fans will know this version tho
