I'm an old white guy (59 years, as I'm writing this); my oldest son had me listen to this song somewhere in the '90's.... he would occasionally bring me music to listen to, that he thought I might appreciate... rap has never been one of my favorite expressions but, dammit, when you hear genius, you have to acknowledge it... this is pure genius... dunno who all these ppl posters are alluding to, but this a fucking great song. My son was KIA in Iraq in 2007, and I can't help but wonder what else he would have had me listening to... Lord willing, he will rest in peace.

He lent me the 'E 1999 Eternal's" cassette, but it creeped me out lol. I looked at it like WTF? Skeletons, cemeteries, crystal balls? What in the voodoo is going here? LMAO. Unfortunately, my best friend passed away in 2001. Interestingly, I remember the last few encounters we had. He played "Ain't mad at cha"/Pac, C U when you get there/Coolio, It's hard to say Good bye/Boys to men, One sweet day/Mariah Carey. I didn't speak English back then. Beautiful story , very sorry for your loss sir, i agree though im 41 black from the inner city but ive discovered jim Morrison about 8 years ago and janice joplin and billy Joel it proves your point good music is just good music and sometimes its even more enjoyable when its not music that we've traditionally enjoyed throughout our lives , who knew that id learn to love all of this iconic classic rock , now im hooked lol

try looking for the cd single with bar code number 088561633523. I found the CD single on ebay. easier than trying to hunt down a first pressing of the album. or "The Collection Volume One" by BNTH. It's on there too.

This was the first song I ever heard by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. East 1999 was the first album that I ever owned when I was 10 years old. To this day it is hands down my favorite album of any artist all time. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony were original trendsetters with the original style. Fresh.

Do you guys notice how they're rapping sequences "Krayzie, Wish, Layzie then Bizzy" is just about the opposite of their rapping sequence on the follow up (popular) Crossroads...but whatever the sequence, its always a masterpiece with Bone Thugs 'n Harmony

This was such a unique song when it first came out. One of the best songs on the album and that's saying something. I had the tape, played this one song so much, it snapped right in the middle of it... I went out and bought the cd to replace it and that's when I discovered the remix. Appreciate you posting this Krae. Nothing but love for you and the Bone thug family. Keep your head up!

I remember as a teen in the 90s (41 now) I got the E. 1999/Eternal album and when I saw Crossroads I was expecting the song everyone knew. When I heard this initially I was disappointed it wasn’t that song. But after a few listens this song became my preferred version. Now it’s so hard to find this version. I still like this one even though the other version is more well known. Only true fans will know this version tho
