The line "I'd rather rule in the dark than serve the light." Is kind of interesting speaking of Monarch since, despite being a villain, her aesthetic is very much light.

@@MBeanVoices The other tidbit to keep in mind is that most often times, villains are portrayed in a manner where they are still of shadows, or darker colors. Dark purples, reds, and blacks. The storyline of your album in general is very close to my heart. I love tragic people who turn their backs against goodness out of necessity or for deeply personal reasons. I find them super compelling.
@TyloThorn2 жыл бұрын
They usually turn their back on what evil coldhearted hypocrites do and declare to be good. Not on actual truth and what truly is good, though. They do not actively harm, just defend. Thats what makes them good characters IMO. They aren't villains. And real villains are awful characters because they actively harm the innocent and enjoy it. And to tip it off, said hypocrites are often villains hurting others and declaring it just and good. Tragic ppl often turn more to good, thinking they turn away from it, and i love THAT about them. At least they know they are no good, and admit it. Thats more than most ever amount to.

My favorite part is "I lost the fight but won the war and in my heart a hole was torn, forever." " I thought that I'd lay down and die, but just then I began to fly, from embers." I love how it portrays the change in Ama, during and after what happened, as herself and her continuing as Lee; How she fought after she was broken apart, when everything she ever knew and cared about were crashing before her, and then she found the strength to move forward with a newfound determination. The second part could also be interpreted as Lee singing, since she did die, but because of Ama she continues to live on.

I don’t know. I’m liking Mwtwb quite a bit. Lmao! IDGAF! Let people judge, I’ve been blasting it when I drive. 😂😂 But I really like From the Embers a lot too. Hell, even the intro song, Rise of the Monarch, is good. It’s only a little over a minute and accomplishes exactly what it means to. It hit me in the feels pretty hard, and I can feel the emotion through her voice, and the lyrics. “A candle burning, it was burning too bright.” Unaware of the hurt that would come. Could have been taken for granted or taken advantage of. “The world was shaking like the flicker of the light.” When something bad happens to us it can feels like it’s on a grand scale. Basically like the whole world is against you even when it’s not true. Life can also test us the most at our weakest points, and it really sucks. “A dying flame no one remembers.” Feeling alone or like you have no self worth. This person has lost a lot. “They beat her down to only embers.” Depression. The flame has been extinguished, and she hasn’t completely given up hence the embers, but doesn’t have the strength yet to light that candle. “But will she rise again?” Will she be able to overcome the depression, sadness, and loneliness? Is the person she once was still in there? The strength isn’t there yet, but she acknowledges something needs to be done. “Rise a crown in hand” A goal set to ultimately say, “I beat this.” “But will she rise again?” When we are trying to beat heartbreak/depression we constantly have to push ourselves. Gotta keep yourself in check, and remind yourself that you deserve to be happy, and there can still be some doubt while you’re trying to accomplish this. “Rise, I know we can” She has changed her mindset, which is exactly what you have to do to combat depression. She also says “we”, not “I” meaning that if you’re struggling you can also rise above it and defeat it. Also, notice she says “can” meaning that even though you’re in a positive mindset it is not definitive. You still have to continue to fight, and with the positive mindset you can overcome anything. Anyways, I don’t expect anyone to read my comment, and nobody asked for my analysis. It’s a beautiful intro, and I hope if anyone out there is struggling (I have) that they know that it will get better. Keep fighting!

This is so poetic, no wonder the Album is called the Rise of the Monarch, the songs themselves are chronologically the story of why the Monarch became a villain. From the Embers Monarch who originally a servant of light fought a war for her lover all for a lie. As she died knowing she was taken for a fool her righteousness broke. And so died the servant of the light but the future villain rose up from the embers. Wonderfully executed.

Rewatching this video and interrupting everything as information, this is the lore I have gathered: (Note: this is MY interruption so there may be some things that are not true) Monarch was originally part of a knighthood that worshiped the sun. And based on the armor, she is possibly the sword saint/the destined hero. My guess is she was indoctrinated to the knighthood at a young age and promised a grand destiny that would serve all of mankind if she swerved the light. Years later after training monarch is thinking on a window Silt; most likely after learning about something, Possibly that the knighthood she works for is not as good as she thought. (this is based on the first visual for” I lost the fight but won the war. My interruption of this is that she lost an INTERNAL fight with herself but won the war she was destined to do. But after winning the war and losing all her comrades, she succumbed to darkness or her injuries maybe both. As she was looking at the death door, she saw a figure in the dark sky and was transported to a new dimension. ‘Hero monarch’ was now healed and face to face with A doppelgänger with a completely different outfit. (Also there were not the same person there were different; it’s cannon that monarch double can be seen in the Chrystals but the hero monarch is in person, not seen on the crystal) Here there are two paths one ‘hero monarch’ combined one with monarch and now served the dark instead of the light; saving other people in the process. And even tho she knows it’s around it felt good to her. Path 2:‘hero monarch’ was kept in that dimension and after learning something went insane, possibly killing the other monarch. Dying again but this time she was reborn instead. Becoming the next Monarch only and in her path is her new throne eating for her to take it Edit: the visual from 1:43 was where I got the idea for path #1 but my initial interpretation was that monarch had a twin. But my next interpretation was that the ‘hero monarch’ saw her past that came from the light and then her future that walked into the darkness. And even if these were opposite side of the coin, the hero monarch accepted this allowing her past and future to become one, so her present can be created; a present where she walks the path that suit herself as Monarch TLDR this song is great and has a lot of lore. Plus this all according to my subjective taste

Damn I missed the live chat, but still this is AMAZING, Beautiful art, animation, and most importantly... LORE! Also considering this I'm pretty sure these are what the songs symbolize: 1. From the embers: Her fall from the light and rise into the darkness 2. Metamorphosis: Basically her transformation into her new form 3. Monster U made: Her transformation complete and how powerful she is(though it could also be a revenge song considering the lyrics) 4. Villain vibes: Yeah this one is obvious. 5. MWTWB: also self-explanatory(aka about how you shouldn't mess with her or else) 6. Drink your light: This one I'm not so sure, maybe Absorbing Light from Light warriors and giving them despair like Her past when she was a light warrior? 7. Call me king: Self explanatory (her basically winning and she's now a king/a monarch)
