The new one is good, but the important thing is that it is respectful of the original. It plays off the nostalgia, but is completely original in content... The song is used to convey the story by an Oompa Loompa. So, what did the new one do? The exact... same... thing... perfection.

I do love the little easter egg with him playing the same notes on the flute to get himself in the zone to start dancing and singing that Gene Wilder's version of Wonka played whenever he was summoning the Oompa Loompas to deal with the aftermath of the kids' mishaps in _Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!_

You mean in _Wonka?_ If so, it all stems from Peter Dinklage throwing a tantrum online when Disney started making _Snow White,_ basically saying that the dwarves better not be in it, seeing as, in his eyes, it's a politically incorrect stereotype to cast little people in those type of roles.....So, Disney responded by moving away from having the dwarves in their new _Snow White_ movie, instead deciding that they'd put in seven different magical creatures, and the producers of _Wonka_ responded by casting Hugh Grant in this role to avoid any potential controversies.........while inadvertently stirring the controversial pot, as it were.
