I live in northern Vermont.. crashed one of these in the top of a pine on Oct.6th. 30ft up. It'd been up there until yesterday.. (Nov.26th) Rain. Snow. All the stuff. Finally fell out. Cleaned it up and it flies like new. Batt still had half charge.

When I jumped from 5-6 minutes up to 9-11 minutes on the Avata I was pretty stoked. My biggest complaint is the damn foam on the goggles. DJI needs to release a big foam one like they have for the original goggles. Asap

In your comparison footage between Gyro Flow and no stabilization, not only is the footage stabilized, but all of the fisheye distortion is gone. I understand it has to crop a bit to stabilize - this is fine - but there's more going on here than just smoothing out the motion. I happen to like it, but I'm wondering if that is also part of the stabilizing process, or do you do something else to covert it to a less fisheye look in post. Thanks for such a great video.

If you are newer do yourself a serious favor and practice the simulator first. I’d like to think I’m rather good at flying manual and I still can’t recommend anything other then huge open fields (short grass hopefully to find this easier when you crash lol) and away from any living sole in a 400meter circle. It’s not a matter of “if it happens” vs more so “when it happens” regarding the yaw washout. Could be going 30mph plus and it doesn’t do it….could be only going 10mph and it happens. I started flying till only 50% battery on the avata and even that didn’t help much. I had it first happen on the 37th flight…so for 37 flights prior I called everyone a liar about this prop wash issue….sure enough it got me too though lol. It’s rather random, will catch you off guard most likely, and you will crash most likely. Hopefully when it happens the esc doesn’t do the glitch where it throws full power at the throttle. Had that happen and went sideways uncontrolled for over 150 feet. That is why I say fly this in manual away from anything and everything (which becomes so boring looking at the same fields). Motion controller I have only heard of 1 incident, they were using head tracking, and I have no proof it wasn’t pilot error…so I’d say it’s rather safe to keep enjoying the motion controller!!! 😎. But the rc or manual controller, just be careful! I think there is already one guy having to cover the cost damage for 2 cars from when his avata decided to do its own thing at 120ft up, travel over to smack someone’s roof and then lose complete control as it tumbled towards cars. I’ve never seen anything remotely similar happen with 3inch, 4inch, or 5inch quads or cines. Anyone telling u it’s cause of the way people are flying or it’s not being flown like a cinewhoop….they are lying to you. I challenge anyone to post a video of their cinewhoop doing this behavior. I tried on 3 different ones and even at top speed it’s more like a flutter or shaking like propwash. Everything was instantly recoverable as well vs the avatas esc freaking out and taking over full control of the throttle.

Newby question: Is it possible to use the Avata drone also as a cinematic drone? I mean, using a regular controller with a screen, to take pictures and videos?
@vasylsky9486 Жыл бұрын
It has a normal mode that keeps drone in place when control sticks are in center, but that's it. Camera has wide angle, not stabilized for roll, probably can't point straight down when hovering. Have to use goggles to receive picture (can connect phone to goggles as a second screen). No cinematic modes that mavics have
