A masterclass on subtle crafting of a score. Intimate strings is fantastic software. Homay is very talented...the melodic changes are gorgeous. This is a great example of choosing just a handful of instrument articulations too. You definitely do not need much to create something like this. The instruments are Spitfires's part, Homay show you where your talent can take you. A wonderful little piece of music.

I would buy that in a heartbeat! There was a discount on the Eric Whitacre choir during the black "weekend", but considering how much I plan to use a choir in my music even half its original price is tremendously much. But a stripped-down version with only a few articulations for 29€ would be magnificent!

This really is a wonderful expression of what is capable of being created musically with the originals series .....its a ground breaking, accessible capability..... I’d say a historic achievement ...at least in my world. I’m a lucky man therefore as I already had acquired a huge and competent sonic pallet but week by week I find myself exploring musical adventures using originals and the lab series....for me this instrument collection has a wow factor, cohesion and solid sonic performance characteristics that seamlessly blend into creations in a way that’s so pleasing..at least to my ears. I call this effect the Spitfire factor. So I will send a simple thanks and my continued anticipation and support....and all for the occasional price of couple of a decent take away s and a semi decent bottle of wine 🙏🦄🎩🎹

Sublime...just beautiful. Simplicity is wonderful but so hard to accomplish. Do you think each of the string tracks were individual instances of the plugin or was each track routed to a different output on one instance of the plugin? Brilliant! I do have a question though: I recently bought BBC SO Core edition - but I am now looking for a string ensemble patch to help throw some ideas down quickly - Would the strings patch (Epic or intimate) fit the purpose?
@waynerowley4 жыл бұрын
The piece sounds lovely, and the sound of the library is great too. The shorts and longs have a great sound to them... But why did you remove the legato patches and transitions? Without these it is a struggle to write true melodic phrases and have them sounds realistic. Most of the string tracks are either shorts - which are fine, or long sustained notes. Where you have some melody in the strings (track 11) I hear the volume ‘ducking’ between the notes which is typical of long/non legatos string patches where you get the volume swell as part of the attack. It’s a shame as it really impedes the usefulness of the library (in my opinion anyway).
@TheCrowHillCo4 жыл бұрын
We removed them to make the library affordable and ultimately easy to use. We hope that libraries like these are the first stepping stone before venturing into Albion NEO or Chamber Strings.
@waynerowley4 жыл бұрын
Christian Henson Music Thanks for the reply Christian. I certainly understand the business/commercial angle. The only downside, particularly for the strings, brass & wind Originals libraries is that once you have Albion, ONE, NEO or another strings library, there’s little incentive to reach for them, which is not the case with the two piano Originals.
@wolfblaide4 жыл бұрын
@@waynerowley I'd argue these strings can't be replaced by other libraries. There's nothing quite like the original Albion Loegria in tone. As much as Spitfire want people to think Neo is the replacement, it's not -- it's good in places, but not the same. Good luck replicating Loegria's tone and ease of use on tracks similar to this with other string libs, that would be difficult. It is unfortunate about the legatos, yes, especially the 1/2 section legatos.
@waynerowley4 жыл бұрын
wolfblaide Thanks, that’s a helpful insight. I often considered buying Loegria when it was around. The string sound was great, but I found the brass and winds to be not what I wanted. When NEO replaced it, that hit the nail on the head for me - but the strings are certainly different to Loegria. Ho hum. I can see myself buying Chamber Strings at some point.

Are you really good at coming up with all this stuff on the fly? Or do you take a day or two to come up with this and then make a video. It would take me two weeks at least to make something this nice and it would sound terrible. Is it experience or talent I guess is what I'm asking. Homay seems to have loads of both where I seem to have neither or at least not yet ( if it is experience, if it's talent, I'm screwed).

It strikes me that if cinematic music is becoming this formulaic and defined, in terms of it being appropriate or agreeable, and too the sounds it's constructed from, then there is a risk of producing musical wallpaper... a bit like modern cinema in that respect.

Seem like Christian again wanted to let his signature nail click so he can hear when the library is used in films excatly like with LABS Soft piano. I am personnaly very disapointed about this and cannot use this library much since C3 (if I am correct, plus some other round robins from near notes) is clicking each time I use it. Not up to the quality I excpect from Spitfire. The sound is amazing but this is really getting on my nerves. If I knew I would have bought Felt Piano. Or even better yet, Olafur Arnalds's one.

you are absolutely right that real instruments will always have something about them that sets them apart. Yet, the vast majority of people are not as privileged as you are to be able to do so.
