"Origins" follows the enigmatic journey of renowned celebrity photographer Brian Bowen Smith, delving into the unexpected source of his dual passion for photography and motorcycles. The film opens with Brian's mesmerizing images capturing Hollywood's elite, establishing his acclaim. However, he reveals a hidden layer, recounting a transformative event from his youth. A chance encounter with a vintage motorcycle sparked an intense fascination, setting him on a path of self-discovery. Through evocative storytelling and visually stunning sequences, Brian narrates the evolution of his passion. He shares poignant moments of his early struggles, creatively interweaving his photographic skills with the newfound thrill of riding. The film explores the parallel development of two artistic expressions - the capturing of moments frozen in time through the lens, and the dynamic, ever-changing experience of navigating the open road.
Born and raised in New York, Brian became a professional photographer by a less than traditional route. After catching the eye of Herb Ritts while performing as a pro athlete in a print campaign, the legendary photographer became a friend and mentor, helping Brian to find his personal photographic sytle. Brian has been working steadily ever since, shooting for countless publications and commercial clients, as well as publishing two books and focusing heavily on his fine art photography. When Brian's not shooting, you will find him surfing, snowboarding or riding his motorcycle. Brian lives in Los Angeles with his wife and young son.

As a photographer, he struck the lifestyle motherlode .. Harleys and Hollywood, and the celebs favorite medium, art photographs of themselves! He had the right mix of luck, being at the right place and talent to make it happen.

It’s euphoric. If you don’t get it you don’t ride. It’s loud, it’s violent, fast. It’s a rush. When you get back from a long ride the endorphins are still pumping. Perfect time for a beer👍

I must say you're video makes me want to get my old 68 FLH out of the shed where it's been sleeping 20 plus years and get back into putting around the country.got it when I was 19 I'm now 66 ya it's time. Thanks for the inspiration my man ✌️😎

That was perfect. No filler, intimate looking but not too weird. Hard to describe actually I suspect I will rewatch. The bloke featured gets the whole riding as a therapy thing. If all the origins videos are going to be like this... well I am in for a treat. Helps that the subject loves motorcycles and has some awesome machinery. 👍
