I appreciate your inclusion of Roman classical republicanism and English common law roots. It's so frustrating when people act as though the only antecedents of any worth are just brief glimpses of Locke and Montesquieu (who are indispensable to understand, but not to the exclusion of anything that doesn't fall exclusively in the enlightenment philosophes.... Same goes for the mixed regime that you really cover well. Which is not entirely unheard of but tragically underappreciated and underrepresented.
