There are volumes about what you don't see that are hidden in hstory. DC has a century of stories about these heroes. I really wish GL would have been in the JSA animated movie. Peel back the layers and you will fid even more. Gladiator(Hugo Danner), Doc Savage, John Carter: Warlord of Mars, Tarzan, Flash Gordon, BUck Rogers. Someone did a time line that all of these pulp heroes were connected. There was a story with "The Crimson Avenger"(Lee Travis) who was given a glimpse of the future and saw the coming age of heroes. I'm glad Jay Garrick's name was used in the Flash tv show. Alan Scott needs to be given his due, as does "Wally West" the original Kid Flash.

If we got a JSA movie one day. i want this to be a mix between Captain America The First Avenger and Inglorious Basterds with 1940s movie vibes EDIT: Also with a bit of The Suicide Squad/GOTG vibes cause of the characters who aren't so well know (like Jay's Flash or Alan's GL) or absurd for today (like My fan fav Johnny Thunder)

I'm curious to know how they fit into the DCEU timeline. Did they exist before the Justice League? If so where were they when Zod and Steppenwolf came to Earth? Did the League know of their existence? I can't see how the World knowing of their existence when they didn't really have any real alien / superhuman contact until Superman and Zod and his forces.

JSA is in the 1940s. By the time Zod and Steppenwolf come they were in their 80s 90s or passed

Since they haven't been formally mentioned in the DCEU, other than the animated movie, i think the tie that binds may be WW. From what i have heard mentioned, Wonder Woman was being pushed as the first super hero.. The movies are really convaluted. Best thing to do is read the comics.

@@orinprime3282 If you think the movies are convaluted, the comic books are worse. That's why DC has had so many major crossover events (Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis, Flashpoint, Convergence, etc.) to "fix" the continuity or reboot the DC Universe.

I think that those Heroes are inspired by Wonder Woman Who Is the First super Hero in the DCEU Timeline. Aldo to explain why we haven't heard about the JSA in past movies like MoS or Justice League Is probably cause that they didn't exist until Crisis on Infinite Earths. Who rewrite the DCEU history add more comic element (like the characters that we see in The Suicide Squad who add characters almost identical to their comic counterparts).

@@stevegallo8483 that's true, and that's another reason why I love DC. They have a built in reset system with Flashpoint, and Crisis. They can wipe an entire slate clean; which is probably how they're going to recast Ezra Miller...

As an old time comic book collector, i have to give major KUDOS to you. You started this off right, referencing "The Untold Tale Secret Orgin of the JSA" Comic. Even referencing other comics as well. Just an FYI, it was the "House UN-American affairs committee" which caused the JSA to ulitmately break up. Lots of other things i saw, and thought of, "The Seven Soldiers of Victory" and others. Last years "Justice Society World War II" was the closest interpretation of their origin i have seen. Kudos to them on how they intro'd Superman, as well as homage to the Fleischer cartoons. I know i could on and on. To all of those who measure heroes by what they see in movies, you barely scrape the surface. Thanks for the post.

It’s worth mentioning that the Justice Society has also been depicted as a predecessor and inspiration to (and who lives on the same earth as) the Justice League (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman included). Just like how the Minutemen (who were obviously inspired by the Justice Society) were to the Watchmen.

Of course, that was after COIE. The first meeting of the JLA and JSA came after the JLA was formed and it was to combat the Crime Syndicate of Earth 3, which wasn't named, but mentioned.

Wonder Woman was made JSA Secretary because the character was created by William Moulton Marston. As part of his contract with DC he was the only one who would write the character in all her stories. When the character became part of the JSA, Marston and artist Harry Peter were doing an eight to twelve page story every month for “Sensation Comics” a full 64 page book (less ads) bimonthly in “Wonder Woman Comics”, and another eight page story for the anthology book “Comics Cavalcade”. There wasn’t time for Marston to do a fourth book but Wonder Woman was too big a character, so they made Wonder Woman the Society’s Secretary until Marston’s ill-health and eventual death meant other writers would take over the character. These writers would split writing duties and let Wonder Woman finally take a full role in the JSA.

I just hate Hawkman's wings in the Black Adam trailers. His look would have been epic with giant, natural looking, wings in shades of white and gray or bald eagle brown. All the red and gold makes his wings look more like a technological apparatus rather than his natural appendage. Of course, depending on which version of Hawkman this is, his wings could go either way.
