I lived in the Back Bay for a few years on one side of Boylston Street at the end of the marathon route. I worked on the other side. Any other day of the year I could walk to work in 10, maybe 15 minutes. On Marathon Day, it was a $10, 30-minute cab ride because of how far around the barriers they had to go and how bad the traffic was. Still mad at it.
