That Cowser AB was embarrassing. Struck out looking on ball 5. That was the 5th strikeout looking on a pitch that was nowhere close to the plate this road trip for the O's. The pitch challenge system can't come fast enough.

The Orioles have been treated so unfairly this entire season when it comes to the strike zone. EVERY GAME there is one or two more zone calls that go to the other team. Does anyone know a way to measure this.

@@CoRh-im8mi A lot of it is tied to catchers framing. And per baseball savant, Adley is 40th/64 and McCann is 60th/64. As a team, Orioles are LAST(!) with -7 framing runs, Yankees lead with +14, Jays are 7th with +4.

It hasn't been well for Mayo up to this point, but let him stay for a little more in the show. Let him struggle, option him down, get him into his groove again, then call him back up. So far it has worked like a charm for Cowser and Holliday. It most definitely will work for Mayo too.

Jackson Holliday became the youngest player in Orioles franchise history to hit a grand slam when he belted an 0-2 off speed pitch 439 feet onto Eutaw street against the Blue Jays about a week ago. Little did we know this was just a preview of the greatness that was to come, and is to come, with Jackson Holliday. When he hit an 0-2 four seamer(bc Burr was stupid enough to throw him 3 in a row)424 feet to give the Orioles a 4-3 lead in the 7th, he became the youngest player in American League history to homer in 3 consecutive games. Who were the leaders of this list prior to that swing? Miguel De La Hoz at 20 years old in 1960, and then Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Gleyber Torres(who had one of the most insane starts to a career even though he wasn’t touted to be that good when he was a prospect and would prove that to be true as years went on)and Ken Griffey Junior. Not only has Jackson been touted as a Hall of Fame caliber talent since before he was drafted, and had a minor league career that furthered that belief exponentially, but he was also compared to Ken Griffey Jr many times with how fluid his swing was, the fact that he grew up in MLB thanks to an illustrious career on behalf of his father, Matt Holliday. Expect to see a lot of records broken by the young man, and expect to see his name on lists that consist of players like these from yesteryear and players like Mike Trout regarding 21st century dominance. Don’t be surprised if his sophomore campaign garners an MVP trophy regardless of Aaron Judge’s triple crown potential. After all, Trout beat out triple crown winner Miguel Cabrera for MVP when his reign began. Orioles Nation, I give you your future super star, league MVP, World Series MVP and Hall of Famer, Jackson, the Action, Holliday!
@BrutallyOrange2 ай бұрын
That’s right, Jackson broke a record that was held by Ted Williams for 21 years until Miguel De La Hoz snuck in and snapped in 1960, which stood for 64 years, but Jackson had to get his name on top of that list(which consists of Williams, Ruth and Griffey Jr)so that the record would return to being held by one of the generational greats like Williams, Ruth and Griffey Jr., and now Jackson Holliday who will join those 3 and more when his career is over, as a one in a trillion, generational talent. Imagine what this team is going to be like if Basallo turns out to be a barely lesser all-around hitter than Holliday, with Gunnar, Adley, Kjerstad, Cowser, Mayo, Westburg all being as good as they’ve been and better as they get older, and as the most elite supporting cast in baseball history!!
MLB I hate you so bad you guys always delaying Orioles highlights I have to stay up just late because your ongoing errors
