I've owned both of these watches and I think the reviewer got the 'vibe' of each of them right. The 65 isn't your typical diver and feels more dressy. Wears amazingly well! But... in the end I flipped it and bought the Rado. I adore the Rado (green on BoR bracelet), it's just such a beautiful piece with a great movement. For me it's a keeper, but I'd recommend both watches. Follow your heart!

Just bought the Rado Captain Cook in bronze.at 42mm and WR of 300m. I do believe the Rado model you showed comes with the beads of rice bracelet also. I really didn't think the review did his home work in general for either of the watches. In my opinion the huge increase in the power reserve the ceramic bezel and the water resistance makes the Rado the winner. But since he didn't mention the price of either then I should say definitely.

I have the Captain Cook blue dial on the beads of rice bracelet. I am planning to order that leather strap and buckle soon, just to make the watch a little more versatile. This was a good comparison and well done. Thank you for sharing this video and cheers.

If I could have my choice right now, I'd take the Rado. Now, the Oris Aquis, that might be a tougher decision.
@Feemy4 жыл бұрын
That's the dilemma I'm facing right now. I'm leaning towards the Rado simply because it has the better movement. 80h power reserve. If the Aquis had a better movement, I would go with that
@martinharrison42454 жыл бұрын
The oris is nice, but the rado wins it for me . Rado are very good watches, I've got a original diver and it's beautifully made. One of the nicest watches rado have made in the modern era. Both companies are similar in a way though. Neither are renowned for making drop dead gorgeous models like omega and rolex. But when you study them , you realise they both make a great watch for the money, and they tend to grow on you.
@Heppssss4 жыл бұрын
Hi Thor! I'd have to go for the Oris. For me the Rado , although being a pretty decent diver , is just a bit to big. Lose a few mm and I might change my mind although Im really fond of the vintage vibes that the Oris is sending out. Lovely video Thor , on to the next. Cant wait for the .................. 😉

@patricevialle4 жыл бұрын
Easy choice, Rado for sure and for 3 main reasons, better movement with an 80 power reserve, better bezel being in ceramic and with a better click movement and lastly, a 200 meter water resistant which is twice as much as Oris.
@stephanodem49473 жыл бұрын
I went with the green Rado WR 300m in a set with 3 bracelets. With a discount its nearly the price of the Oris.
@Mububban23 Жыл бұрын
38hr power reserve is very unimpressive from the Oris, as beautiful as it is. I get that from my cheap Orient diver. 80hrs is much better especially if it's one of a few watches in rotation
@hiyukelavie23964 жыл бұрын
I'd take the Oris 65 hands down A very wearble, versatile dive watch. It has a very different vibe than a typical dive watch. I have the one with the silver dial and I believe it goes better with a rubber strap, but the bracelet looks nice as well The Rado is more of a typical dive watch Chunky, thick, with large bezels. It's also a little pricier than the Oris 65, so in terms of design and price point it goes up against other divers such as Tag Heuer's Aquaracer, Maurice LaCroix's Aikon Venturer, or the Longines Hydroconquest with ceramic dial
@ThePurple19682 жыл бұрын
Firstly of you are comparing two watches, they should both be on bracelet or strap. Secondly the Rado mechanism is not a modified 2825. Its an entirely redesigned new generation, almost non magnetic, alloy spring, laser calibrated, almost chronometer, In terms of technology and engineering, the Rado is almost a level above. In terms of looks they are both fantastic and it's really personal taste. I love the new 65 chronograph. Its on my list. I already have the Rado ;).

Where I am at (Philippines), the Oris 65 can be bought for $600-700 less than the Rado CC (at the beads of rice bracelet) at their respective authorized dealers. Thus, the price difference might be a relevant consideration in choosing either watch. Also, at $1900, the Rado CC is just less than $200 from a Tag Heuer Aquaracer. Again, I am talking about prices ADs sell these watches here in my country. That having been said, I tried on the Rado CC at the AD and it's a great-looking watch on the wrist.

@redentorroque2624 жыл бұрын
@@Wristwatchism You are right. I did not realize that the comparison between the Oris 65 and Rado CC was because they are vintage re-issues. I was just thinking that, if one looks for divers in general at the price point of about $2000, there are alternatives to the Rado CC.

Captain Cook has a lug width of 21mm, not 20mm. Also, it just simply ain't fair to be comparing a watch on a strap to a watch on a bracelet. I really think the Beads of rice vs. Rivet would've made for a better comparison and all around a better video.

When I bought my CC I ordered 2 extra 20mm straps (what all websites state) and to my dismay they didn’t fit! It is certifiably 21mm as you pointed out.

Oris is using the very basic sellita sw200 movement it’s dull as well, the rado as we know rado is the master of materials rado is using eta 2824 top grade movement which is very accurate plus it’s a unique design rado is a design master so I think rado is the clear winner
@Bryan-ee6rn4 жыл бұрын
It's actually a sw200-1. You dismiss the "basic" Sellita despite the fact that the sw200-1 is considered to be a 2824 clone. Sellita was a contract supplier of movement parts to ETA, making parts and assemblies for ETA...lol try again.

Too bad the reviewer is so conserned about tipping me off from wanting this Rado watch. Time and again he can't stress enough how it "wears smaller" than a 42mm. It's all about sucking in people who are concerned about the "big size spec", and alienating those of us who actually like "big" watches. Now I have become sceptical, as I certainly don't feel like buying a diver's watch that actually feels smaller than 42mm. With the rotating bezel and all, 42mm is an absolute minimum for me.
