I think Jeff Lynne quitting was a good thing. The people who still wanted to perform the songs got the chance to make their own voices heard. Jeff hogged the lead vocals in my opinion. I mean, just listen to Kelly Groucutt, he sounds amazing.

Kelly was part of the reason why the vocals are so good on all the albums he performs on. If you remove his vocals from all the songs he sung on even harmony they won’t sound the same at all.

this is OrKestra, bev was not a member. Bev was ELO Part II

Bev and Louis Clark started ELO pt.II w. new collaborator, while Mik, Hugh and Kelly started the OrKestra. The members of OrKestra joined ELO pt.II in 1991 after they released their first album though, but Hugh left after a 1991 tour.

Kelly was a great backing vocalist, but Jeff Lynne, with his Beatlesque vocals, was and will always be the true vocalist of ELO.
