Fascinating! However you had me scratching throughout with your constant reference to midges! But for real midgie swarms try the Isle of Rum where I used to live. The guys working out on the hill used to give up more for midges than the weather! Going to Orkney next week so may make a trip to Hoy to see the stone. Thanks for posting and suffering for your art!!
