Family reunions and family vacations can be hard to pull off let alone coordinating everything down to a T but Jalyn and Shay did it and we are so happy about our Orlando Florida family vacation 2024. We flew on Frontier and had a nice flight. In this Orlando vlog, we went to Maple Street Biscuit Company, Aquatica Water Park, Rain Forest Cafe at Disney Springs and we enjoyed our Villa in Kissimmee Air BnB immensely- and most of all we enjoyed spending time with our family because Family Matters!!! @@traciesplace YES! Those builders are GENIUSES. The walls are very sturdy and offer a lot of privacy. When we’re in our rooms, we can’t hear anything that’s going on in the other rooms; and when we’re upstairs, we can’t hear what’s going on downstairs. It’s CRAZY impressive. I know the building materials must be top notch because FL is in a hurricane zone, but still… We're always in awe of the vacation homes and what they give. Every time we travel to Orlando, my nieces and nephews seriously discuss the family moving to the Kissimmee area permanently. The pact/agreement would be that EVERYONE would have to move to FL. They’re so serious about it, it's funny! My position is always the same: The unpredictable HURRICANES; and I don’t want to leave my Dad in Michigan-and now, my brother; they’re buried here. Further, FL is now notorious as a Trump-supporting haven of racism. Such racial overtness has even invaded the Disney area (Last year, insane yt terrorists were tormenting and harassing travelers/tourists at the Disney entrance. To see the devil and his people try to invade and destroy the "Happiest Place On Earth" was nauseating, shocking and baffling). Hence, I stood with the NAACP and other organizations that were boycotting FL because of the racist actions of Ron DeSantis in attacking blacks (banning books re: black history and by black authors; removing/canceling African American Studies/DEI courses and curriculums; harassing black professors and challenging their tenures, etc.) and other groups-abusing their power and using the law to marginalize and discriminate against people-as well as his regime's attacks on Disney. The last time we traveled to FL was November 2019 right before the pandemic officially started. It was on the ground when we traveled to Orlando. Ironically, my niece got sick and had to go to the ER when we returned home. The doctors didn't know about COVID at the time, so they diagnosed her as having one of those seasonal viruses. They prescribed her some meds, and she was fine. We believe now she probably had COVID. Further, we normally travel to FL in November. We like to be in FL for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. The shopping is INSANE and sooo fun! They have the VERY BEST deals on all things designer at their factory shopping outlets. Of course, we normally have to purchase/check additional luggage for the plane, but it's so very worth it. I don't go as overboard as my sisters, or nieces/nephews! Girl, they clear/clean the stores OUT! I had to cancel our 2021 corporate family trip due to COVID; and our 2023 trip due to the NAACP boycott (The kids/my siblings were mad about it, but I had to stand on principle, legacy and business. I told them that we never want to set a family precedent where it's acceptable, necessary, or okay to not support a NAACP boycott; to essentially cross a picket line. My Dad would turn over in his grave if we did such a thing. He discussed this with us when we were kids, and he fought for civil rights. Some of my family members, though, traveled to FL with their own individual families during the summer months of these timeframes. So, we'll see what November 2024, or November 2025 do...! I have to admit the whole NAACP thing and overt racist actions of Ron DeSantis and his Trump followers have thrown me back some re: my LOVE for FL. I just couldn't believe that was all happening in a place I love so much and from where I have such great memories. At the end of the day, though, the love for my people and our advancement and protection outweigh my love for FL.

AMEN! to you and your family! I was sooo excited watching your Orlando Big Family Vacation video. The awe, joy, exhilaration, wonderment and excitement I saw in your/your family members' faces and heard in your voices are the same expressions/excitement we always have on our faces/voices when we travel as a corporate family to Orlando-even after almost 30 years of traveling there! What a WONDERFUL gift you guys have given to each other-especially the children. They will be impacted by your family's travel experiences for the rest of their lives. Oh, the memories...! When my nephews were younger, and we returned back from Disney, their teachers said they were fantasizing and gazing off in their classrooms; that they had to get them to focus back in on reality! Orlando is my family’s 2nd home! Where do I begin…! The Vacation Homes: The vacation homes in Orlando are EVERYTHING-better than other vacation home rentals around the country. They’re more pleasing because they’re just that-vacation homes. They’re not like many other Airbnbs and other vacation home rentals around the country where the homes are homes people actually live in, but rent out, which is very unappealing to me. The Orlando vacation homes-even the smaller 3-5 bedroom homes-are very spacious, although they don't look to be so from the outside. They pretty much all have screened-in pools, which is very convenient and private fun for families. Pretty much all of the bedrooms in the larger vacation homes are en suites (have bathrooms), which makes the stay comfortable for all of the mini families in attendance. The larger vacation homes usually have game and theater rooms, which allot for great fun for the people who want to stay home for the day. They're worth every penny because of the wide range of amenities they offer. We typically reserve vacation homes in gated communities around Kissimmee/Orlando. They normally have clubhouses and other amenities and activities as well. We normally rent three (3) to four (4) 8-10 bedroom vacation homes to accommodate different lifestyles. My goal is for everyone to be comfortable; and that everyone have fun and a good time. So, when we first started traveling to Orlando as a corporate family in the late '90s, I broke down the vacation homes (I'm usually the travel agent/planner) as: "The Married Couples Home;" "The Old People's Home;" "The Party Home;" and the "Stragglers!" We've gotten good laughs about this over the years! The Theme/Amusement Parks: The parks are EPIC! The Magic Kingdom is the center, glue to and highlight of them all, and therefore, a MUST! My favorite Disney Parks are The Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Typhoon Lagoon-one of the water parks. The Universal Studios Parks are PHENOMENAL, too! Islands of Adventure is my favorite (It's a bright, fun and gorgeous park), but Universal Studios holds a special place in my heart because of the Jaws and Back to the Future rides that are no longer there (My mom rode these rides, which made them epic for us). Both of the popular Harry Potter rides-Escape from Gringotts (Universal Studios); and Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Coaster (Islands of Adventure) are a BLAST! My other favorite rides at Universal Studios are The Simpsons and the Revenge of the Mummy rides. All of the rides are fun, though! Universal Studios's CityWalk is FABULOUS! It's a fun and entertaining experience for people who want to hang out later in the evening. And, I LOVE Disney Springs, which also serves as a night spot like CityWalk! I'm so happy you guys made it's there. It is one of the VERY BEST shopping experiences in Orlando. My nephew got us purchasing these huge and delicious chocolate chip cookies from Ghiradelli. I get Ghiradelli's cocoa powder/hot chocolate from Amazon-it's delish! Disney Springs has a shop where they sell delicious candy, candy apples and slushees; a 365-day-a-year Christmas store that sells the most beautiful, glamorous and unique ornaments (they used to ship them to your home, vacation home, or hotel for free. I don't know if they still do); a discount Disney store that sells reasonably-priced Disney souvenirs/merchandise; a Christmas Tree Wonderland that you can walk through and enjoy a maze of Disney-themed and decorated Christmas trees (during the Thanksgiving/Christmas Season); luxury stores; great restaurants; and my FAVORITE Disney Store, The World of Disney. The Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boutique is in the World of Disney for the little girls to be adorned, made up and dressed up like princesses. They later allow the little girls to participate in a princess parade! The Rain Forest Cafe is WILD! The first time we went there was in Michigan. My nieces were babies and TERRIFIED-especially when the ape came alive! We were right next to it! The food is good, though. You can literally spend the entire day at both Disney Springs and CityWalk. There's so much to do and see. At Disney Springs at night, they have a DJ, and people are out hustling/shuffling/doing line dances. The funny thing is it's sometimes after midnight and people have their small children out with them partying, too! It's hilarious! Walmart's/Target: Isn't it so fun going grocery shopping at Walmart in Orlando with your corporate family?!; catering to everyone's needs/wants?! Girl, we NEVER spend below $600 per home on our first shop (This is because we normally stay in Orlando 2-3 weeks. So, we need A LOT of groceries!) I'm easy. My main snacks when we're in Orlando are Haagen Dazs Almond Ice Cream bars and Lay's Cheddar & Sour Cream and Lightly Salted chips! And, girl, Orlando Targets & Walmarts have some of the most beautiful Disney & Universal Studios merchandising. They have great deals on tank tops, shorts, swimwear, towels, etc. Everything is bigger, brighter and better in Orlando! Going to Walmart and Target are experiences! The Fun Spot-a small amusement park in Kissimmee-is great fun as well! Downtown Orlando is also very elegant and fun. There are SO MANY things to do and places to go in Orlando, the options are endless. Of all the places we've traveled corporately as a family over the years, Orlando remains our favorite. Orlando caters to family travelers like no other place. It accommodates everyone-all age groups. Whenever I leave Orlando and return home, it takes me weeks to adjust back to being home. I have to recalibrate everything! It's as if I have to come out of a Disney/Orlando trance; as if I'm coming from under a magical spell! Let me know if you and/or your family members felt that way! I can talk about Orlando/Disney all day! I can't wait to see your other Orlando family vacation videos!

I pray you guys continue to vacation together. It's a time when everyone can come together; be in a blissful bubble; catch up; and fellowship. It's a great time of joy, laughter and arguments/disagreements. For my siblings and I-one of the favorite things we love to do-is lie in bed and/or sit around chatting with my mom-just like the olden days. When we were growing up, we used to sit around on Saturdays sometimes and talk pretty much all day. We would get food and just enjoy each other. Those were times we cherish to this day.
