What I love about Texas Country Reporter is that it’s no frills, non-pretentious, apolitical and that Texas is full of character and has its very fair share of characters all over the state.

My first job was dishwasher at pizza place, then I move on to be A PIZZA MAKER. I’m Mexican but my grandfather was Italiano, his Last name was Castelazo. GR8 video clip. Pork loin pizza it’s my favorite with jalapeños peppers on it and extra cheese.

What better reason to take a road trip? I'm in Dallas and I've been to around 75% of these places showcased on TCR.

Raise your hand if Natalie Maines was ever your waitress on Ave. Q or if you used to go to Orlando's on Indiana back in the day, just to look at Kelly Peterson's legs, :) ......those were the day.....oh and of course Caprock on 34th.....I was friends with David and whether by design or accident, he had some amazing waitresses~! lol

From Wichita (yes, Kansas) another great story from TCR, why would anyone go to a franchise when there are places like this?

My first time at Orlando's was in 1967. Large pizza was $2.25, and that was expensive for the time. They make the best spaghetti sauce. I like the anise seed flavoring....just saying.....

I thought Orlando's Italian restaurant was Olive Garden.

That place is disgusting. Went to the one on 24TH & AVE. Q from pie day last year. Place looked old and run down. Defore was old and dirty. Food wasn't good at all. Wont ever go again. 🤮
