Thank you for your kind words. My Dad was always concerned about pilot safety. He wanted all pilots to make it safely to their destination. He would get onto fellow controllers when they were short or exasperated with pilots. He always said if it were not for the pilots, he would have no job. Be safe my friend@@CitationMax

After learning a bit about the impossible turn it seems it’s almost always best to turn into the wind. So when planning for an emergency after V1 I’d say always turn into the wind for your downwind just in case you lose all engines. That way you’re upwind of the runway giving you much better chance to glide to runway.

Great flight Max. I remember flying out of Tampa over two decades ago. The last part of our runway reconstruction in Grand Forks, ND forced us to fly out of McDill for almost 90 Days. The airport was great, but weather forced us to divert numerous times. It was really surreal holding for nearly two hours while a Tstorm sat over Tampa without moving. It also provided a lesson to bring an overnight bag for diverts. Hanging out in a flight suit isn’t always the best look at 1am in the morning.
@FLLoonNews10 ай бұрын
TPA is my home airport never flew it from MCO - however it is a frequent diversion for MCO flights in bad weather

Hey Max, I have a beginner flying enthusiast question how do you calculate no the V1 speed? I always feel like a pilot can get that wrong and sit there nose up for a while before they takeoff. If they underestimate the speed is that a possibility?
