The French Quarter is amazing and not filthy. Bourbon Street is well known as the mad, party area, reccomended for adults only. Guns everywhere in America, even Orlando

Well done. Congratulations. What a journey. Imagine what it is like for the truck drivers going across country. Was on the fence about visiting New Orleans, not any longer. You were right to stick with your gut feeling and leave a day early. Happy to hear Vera was on her feet.

My mom went to NOLA in the 90’s. She was totally disgusted by Bourbon St. She said they use disinfectant in the street sweepers as so many people urinate on the streets. We sailed from NOLA in Oct but chose to stay in Metairie. It was a nice quiet area, 10 min from the port & we enjoyed our cruise!

You both look and sound exhausted by the end of this vlog, and I totally understand why. I know what you mean about I 10 at least in The Florida panhandle - it is just straight driving with almost nothing to see on either side except trees. I have driven I 10 and I 75 to the point where you would get off for Orlando, and it is a pretty straightforward drive. I think New Orleans is one of those places that you absolutely love or you want nothing to do with - there isn’t much in between.

Things like that can happen anywhere. There was a shooting outside the Paris hotel in Vegas when we were there once between a bus passenger who wouldn't pay for a ticket and a bus security man. The next day there were 2 security men on every bus. It's still like the Wild Wild West!

Congratulations on your cross country drive! You've done something that I've always wanted to do. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you guys on this trip. You've been to places that I never even knew existed and now I want to visit, also. I want to help you pronounce a couple of American terms. Mobile Alabama would be pronounced like Mo-beel or Mo-b-eel with the emphasis on the last syllable. Buc-ee's is pronounced like buck (a Male deer... or muck like mucking up your boots or getting them dirty. Similar to muck-ees, it would be buck-ees. They built a Buc-ee's near me but I haven't been yet. It's way on the other side of town. I can't wait to see your Florida vlogs.

I was born & raised about an hour & a half from New Orleans…unfortunately that’s just how Bourbon Street is. New Orleans is the most dangerous city with highest murder rate per capita in the US. Has great culture but also a lot of craziness. Great vlog!
@donnamoschitta5026 Жыл бұрын
I don't blame you. New Orleans used to be a wonderful city full of music and culture. It is so crime ridden now. I only go there if I absolutely have to which is very rare. I wish you could have visited before crime over rode the city. There are some nice places still, but not like it used to be. The Elms is amazing. I went to a brunch there many years ago.
