great tip on the body reamer. I used a tiny drill bit and just hand turned them a couple times just the very top or entrance of the screw holes for the ball joint

Great video, I’ve only just bought this kit today so this video will definitely be very helpful, thank you for taking the time to make the video it is now saved and I will take time to watch it many times wile I wait for it to get here , I’m busy with three rc car builds just now an Fg marder a Losi ten rally x and my new Arrma Infraction speed run build , so plenty to keep me going but I had to have this kit , stay safe .

I got one just recently as I preferred the look of the D110 over the Jeep. So I transferred all my good parts over and just bodged the Jeep to fit a random esc/rx with transmitter I had spare and not using. I love the car, it's an amazing little RC, a real pain to work on, the lights more so than anything else. I have a couple tips too, the first for the ball studs is to take the allen key and cut it so you can use it in a pin vice drill, makes mounting the balls so much easier without the need to reem. The second, if you want a few more degrees of steering angle, on the front axle there's a screw that holds the end cap in place. The one on the front side that the steering arm on the wheel hub can touch, remove it and cut the little plastic collar off that it sits in, then cut a small bit off the screw or else it will press into the axle and prevent it from turning. My D110 now turns tighter than my previous Jeep.

Thank you for the tips, Drew! If I decide to build another one of these little rigs, I'll keep that information in mind.

Semi-Pro tip: the manual is printed to scale, so all the screws, bearings and assembly lengths are printed 1:1. I started out using digital calipers before realizing I could just hold the parts up to the picture to confirm lengths With that out of the way, is there some sort of oil or grease we should be using on the gears? I know that's typical in larger RC but I didn't find anything in the manual, and I would almost think the kits would come with some.

The paint on that body is insanely good of a job. Did you paint it with one of those tiny hobby brushes?
@rcnewb4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This was a 100% aerosol spray paint job. I masked off the roof and went to work. :)

Hi Mark! That’s a file that I whipped up but haven’t posted anywhere. I may put it on Thingiverse and can send you the link if/when it’s up.

@@rcnewb Awesome! Thanks. Would be great to add to the other Orlandoo stl's and maybe encourage others to remix, and add on. Ive printed a couple terrain flats that i chopped up from others designs but am going to make some changes as they are not quite scaled right for this little truck.

What mount did you break, i didnt break any and i have the same problem. Did you ever fix it? If so, how did you. I think my issue is that the ball ends are loose
@rcnewb4 жыл бұрын
The "cup" end of the link mount cracked, which makes the link move around much more than it should be. I haven't looked into fixing it, but might take a closer look at it again.
@Prelude_user20224 жыл бұрын
Oohh, i broke the mounting on the center gearbox but if you broke the little ear shaped links there should be like 4 spares in the box

What worked well for me was just cutting the little allen key and put it in the electric screwdriver/drill. This way you can push much harder with the thread of the balljoints against the plastic holes. Just let it turn as slow as you can. And set the slip on the lowest. In case you would turn it too far it will just stop turning instead of stripping the hole. But better just go slow.

I used Tamiya TS-28 Olive Drab for the main body and Tamiya TS-26 Pure White for the roof. I painted the roof first and then masked it off to paint the rest of the body.
