Cousin lives in Celebration. I grew up in St Cloud and drove to Celebrate everyday for work. After moving out of state after 22 years calling Florida my home this brought back so many memories. Thank you. 😢🥺

celebration unsettles me in a morbidly fascinating way. i wonder what it would've looked like and operated like if disneys dreams came true. i was born and raised in southern California, what disney was looking for i imagine was easy access to the coast, varying seasons reflective of inland regions and forests like the North. he would've never gotten that from florida, no matter how hard his company tried. it was doomed from the start. im glad the land didn't go to waste.

I don't understand why more of Florida can't look like this. Instead we get endless sterile, treeless developments with massive yards that no one uses and nowhere to walk to. Along with 8-lane roads lined with oceans of parking, massive billboards and ugly strip malls. Is it really that hard?

Because it's expensive to build. I agree with you though.

@@OrlandoStreets I don't necessarily agree. The infrastructure needed for sprawling suburbs is immense, think of all the pipes that need to be laid, the electrical wires, the roads that need to be paved. And all this stuff needs to be maintained. What I like about Celebration is that it's more dense, which means you don't need to cover as much area. The reason it's expensive is because it's rare and there's a lot of demand for it.
