I rarely hear this song on radio stations that claim to be a "source for oldies." This was good music back in '79 and it's good music in 2023. The oldies' stations must be managed by people who were born in 1990 and know little about the music of previous decades.

I had forgotten about this gem till last night, when it played while I was in a small local drugstore. (I wish I knew a radio station that played old hits like this.) If this were on Name That Tune, I could identify it within the first few notes (long before the vocals begin). Not only that, but I challenged myself to name the group. (If I'd had power on my mobile phone, I would've cheated and used Shazam!) When I reached my car, I made a note of the song title. Once my phone had power, I checked KZbin...and, to my amazement, I recalled the group's name correctly. My late brother (who had leukemia and died in 2021 from Covid complications) is responsible for my love of music. I enjoy a wide variety of music genres, and so did my brother. I wish he were alive to hear this hit. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him as well as enjoying music with him. He was my hero, my protector, and my best friend. If he were here, he would agree that we cut our teeth on the best music.

Alot of your songs hit my wheelhouse..another 1979 forgotten classic:)
@Leftatalbuquerque10 жыл бұрын
Your colloquialism is one I've never heard before - you must be coastal... but yes, I'm trapped in an era where melody, lyric, and chord progression were SO much more an art than what seems to pass for pop music these days...and I've studied music and made it a career - so I know of what I speak! I'm glad you enjoy my selections. I came of age in the 12" Single era, and like the idea of hearing the WHOLE song! Some songs I've done perhaps shouldn't have been remixed, but if nothing else, it prolongs the listening experience.

MrZwip30 Where as I hail from Toronto and points north in Ontario - we are both Great Lakes Basin boys! - and I've never heard that expression before in my life, so obviously you are of a different heritage than I am (read: weird)! Enjoy my channel - there should be lots there you'll recognize. My fave is my Nicolette Larson Lotta Love and (believe it or not) my Donny Osmond Breeze On By remix /mashup.

The term "In my Wheelhouse" originated in baseball. So don't know how much of a fan you are..lol. I started collecting albums in the early 70's and have about 3,000. Yes I have the Nicolette larson Album as well as the Orleans one I commented on. So yes, I do enjoy your channel alot....I have found many of your songs to be some of my favorites.
