They used to be sold as kits and I made ace several in the 70’s but I have not seen them in a very long time. Glad to see yours. Thanks!

I had also gotten some kits to make Beaded Ornaments and since then I've been wanting to make them again. Watching u make these beautiful ornaments has inspired me to go out to A.C.Moore to get all the products. These will be good to do after I have my Hysterectomy surgery since I'll be home recuperating. Thank You very much and God Bless You & your family!!

Amendment to this comment: I didn't need to have a hysterectomy, instead I had my Gallbladder removed, laparoscopically done.

You showed us the materials we need and I found some Diamond Wrap at Dollar Tree. It's 1.58 cm x 2.74 m or 0.6 in. x 9 ft., which is a pretty good deal. I got Green for Emerald, a light/medium Orange for Topaz, a medium/dark red for Ruby, July and a yellow/green for Peridot, August. Now, I just need to get Sapphire, Amethyst, Diamond, Pearl, Turquoise, Garnet, Opal, & Aquamarine. Then I can start working on them. Thanks again for all help.

VERY PRETTY! Have you found a brand of jewelry plates or caps that do not tarnish? I made a simple ball, just to try to see if I like this craft, and the jewelry beads and caps tarnished. So I have stopped doing them. Any help will be appreciated.

I buy all my jewelry findings in Japan. I've found a shop called Parts Club that is pretty good quality and doesn't seem to tarnish. I know that probably doesn't help you much since you probably don't live in Japan. I'll ask the question on Facebook, Twitter, etc. and see if anyone else has some suggestions. I know you aren't the only one looking for findings that don't tarnish.

I was thinking about maybe applying shellac, varnish, or maybe even a clear coat of nail polish to prevent tarnishing. But wanted to check with you first for your suggestion. Thank you for your help and your beautiful creations.

I asked the question on Twitter and Facebook and the only reply was from one lady who suggested clear nail polish or clear poly seal. I myself have never needed to try this as my bead caps and other jewelry parts never tarnish. I don't see any reason not to give it a try.

Is tucking the satin the only thing necessary for keeping it in? Besides the other pins used on the ball itself.

If you leave enough fabric so that it's a tight fit in the groove, then yes, it will stay in place.

Can I ask where you get your embellishments from? I’m having trouble finding any that are nice and not cheap looking. Thank you!

I made this video so long ago that I don't remember where I got them. Probably from a local bead shop or craft store. I typically get my sequins from ccartwright.com.

Do you sell the satin Styrofoam balls I am trying to find some Thank you very much!!
@ornamentdesigns22 күн бұрын
I do not. If you do a google search for 'satin foam balls for ornaments' you will get lots of search results.

@ornamentdesigns5 жыл бұрын
Very cheap to make but as I buy my supplies in bulk I couldn't give you a good cost estimate.

Are you putting the pin through the rounded side of the sequin?
@ornamentdesigns3 жыл бұрын
I usually pin my sequins cup side facing toward me. Just my personal preference.

Not “easy” at all. Why would you use “pie” measurements? I thought I was in a math class. Please bloggers don’t do that for us beginners.
