Hello. I just started with ornatrix for maya. Do you have to do any preparation first before using this technique? or just use the plant tool and start planting on the faces of mesh?

Hi, sorry I missed this comment. In this case I just extracted a scalp mesh from the main mesh and created the UVs so I can add texture maps to the hair. That's all for preparations.

I don't see the cool hairphysicalshader anywhere with V2. Where is it located?

This shader is delivered with Maya, I think is only included on Maya 2017 and higher versions. Also, is a separate plugin, make sure to load it in the Plugin Manager.

It depends if you are using version 2 or the new version 3. In the latest version the UI changed. More details here: ephere.com/plugins/autodesk/maya/ornatrix/docs/3/Ornatrix_UI.html
