Well people are forgetting that he is practically otsutsuki and he mentions this sort of when fighting victor, he says he has perfected his immortal body and literally heals in an instant from getting his arm blown off faster and better than victors. He most definitely used zetsus body who is either deemed as an otsutsuki or what I think is a karma manifested as a being by kaguya. He might have powers to then manipulate karma seals. The point is your right though, and supposedly he’s been hard at work whenever we see him in boruto, doing what??? Also he seems unfazed by everything that’s been happening which tells me he knows a lot more than we do and posses power likely beyond naruto and sasuke at this point. He participates in the victor charade briefly then mentions oh an incomplete divine tree and destroys his assistant without even moving. I also don’t think Mitsuki is his only trump, he’s definitely made himself capable or will use mitsuki in the future for his own personal gain. He’s never been good, his goals literally align with the otsutsuki. He’s to me on the same quest as all to reach shibais godhood.

For me the two strongest pieces of evidence that you presented were the curse mark working very similarly to the karma mark and the fact that grafting orochimaru's DNA onto Kabuto eventually lead to Orochimaru's consciousness influencing or taking over Kabuto. Maybe it had to do with his strong will to survive and live forever, but there has been other times where DNA from one person was grafted onto another with no emergence of anther consciousness. Which kinda points a finger towards the fact that there is something unique about Orochimaru's DNA/ heritage. 🤔

Orochimaru is the OG Otsutsuki. Everything they do and have already done is what the Otsutsuki strive to currently do. Both Orochimaru and the Otsutsuki clan (the alien one) have the same main goal, which is to acquire ultimate knowledge and power and both recognise to achieve that you first need immortality. Their methods of immortality is done the exact same way by finding a specfic perfect host, apply a curse mark, then that mark gives the host insane power amps and a new appearance but all this power is a mere side effect to the real goal being a "checkpoint" to revive Orochimaru/Otsutsuki. Whenever Orochimaru or an Otsutsuki die... THEY DON'T. They cheat death. They cheat the people close to them all to achieve their ultimate goal of divine knowledge and power. They both have their own cults and have people who worship them despite their obvious villainy because Orochimaru/Otsutsuki lure their followers with near impossible promises that only gods can do (e.g. bring back the dead or bless you with ultimate power) and these promises are things that Orochimaru/Otsutsuki can actually successfully do. Orochimaru has been there and done it all before. I always thought it was strange how the Boruto story is copy and pasting Orochimaru's character narrative onto the Otsutsuki, but calling Orochimaru an Otsutsuki is something that fits far too well. Orochimaru eventually became chill and good so maybe the current evil Otsutsuki will eventually copy and become good guys. Orochimaru knows a whole lot more about the Otsutsuki. The Boruto story likes to ignore the original characters in favour of the new ones but Orochimaru and Mitsuki are important characters, which means Orochimaru has an important role to play. Amado and the Otsutsuki could never dethrone the true OG.

I had a theory that mitsuki was a clone of orochimaru with some of toneri's dna, which explained why his snake sage mode and his appearance is so simmilar to Toneri. Then that would also make mitsuki an otsutsuki. But he was affected by eida's charm which kind of proves that he does not have toneri's dna. But the thing is what if mitsuki getting affected by eida's charm is an act. What if Orochimaru told mitsuki to act as if he's getting affected by eida's charm. What really adds up to the theory is that eida's charm is not a shinjutsu and it was confirmed by Momoshiki and sarada and the class rep were not affected by it in chapter 76.

Orochimaru was and still is obsessed with Justus, even stealing ancient scrolls from heavily guarded places, planning ambushes and even kidnapping and committing murders trying to practice such Justus. Since Otsutsuki have such a long and intertwined past in Naruto's world's history, I find it more than feasible that Orochimaru learned about and based a good deal of his Jutsu from Otsutsuki in some fashion. Even if he himself didn't know it specifically, we all know Orochi just reading about some of Otsutsuki feats and descriptions would get homie more bricked up than Jiraiya spying on Tsunade in an onsen.

This all makes way too much sense. The color of the skin, everything you said about Mitsuki, like even the logic behind why mixed with Orochimaru's personality it all just makes so much sense. Maybe Orochimaru grafted skin from Shibai or Toneri, or maybe after Shibai transcended himself he left Orochimaru in his place kind of like a more advanced Karma mark. I always questioned why Curse Seal of Heaven looked like a 3 tomoe since it was his strongest seal which you could make the arguement that "oh it was because he was trying to get an uchiha as a vessel to learn further about the sharingan" but then it would be a bit confusing on why he gave the Curse Seal of Heaven to Anko. Remember the time when we first heard about the Kara organization, we saw a scroll with a few different markings and later found out one of them was kawaki's karma designs. My theory is that some of the other designs are a clue to the two unknown otsutsuki cause a Karma has the design of its otsutsuki's horn( look at kawaki's shoulder when activates his karma and then compare it to isshiki's head. )

Ok there was a great theory pulled from all of this that basically explains the earths story and otsutsuki. He brought up the two missing otsutsuki symbols and this has always peaked my interest. Here’s what I think it means in fuller detail. Shibai was on his conquest to keep ravaging planets for fruit, he eventually comes to earth and either performs the same or had a different realization to obtain the power he sought the only reason I say this is because our planet wasn’t destroyed, his partner who was supposed to be sacrificed if he had one or possibly it could still be that it was a solo mission since he didn’t want anyone in his way and he sacrificed himself to cultivate a new essence of being that the other otsutsuki aren’t aware is possible but let’s just say he did have a partner maybe that lineage again could be tied to orochimaru though honestly I think orochimaru is just a mutation and nothing else but now he is somewhat otsutsuki given that he stole zetsus body so that will definitely come up later in the future. Let’s get back on track, isshiki has been focusing on following shibais instructions for so long to become the ultimate otsutsuki that he finally finds his last known location Earth and he attempts what the divine tree but we know what happens kaguya desires to be free from her clan or either achieve godhood as well in the same way shibai has and steal the fruit basically both knew that earth was special even in this time period before chakra flowed through humans. Remember shibais body was likely found on earth like he said otherwise how would Amado be able to get his hands on it and yes I reasoned like you are propably right now well jigen could have found his body in a different space time and had him retrieve it but I find that highly unlikely since ishhiki is always attempting to gain power and he would use it for his own advantage and that’s not possible because amado had made eida and daemon in secret because they would be stronger than him. I kept thinking about what kaguya said in naruto, that she would protect this planet, she had her own dimensions and planets yet she valued earth so very much that she was willing to sacrifice everything else for it. That tells me that the most likely reason for this is that she was trying to achieve what shibai had after isshikis motivation and to revolt against her clan. I think the reason the stone tablets are destroyed of the previous otsutsuki is because shibai was covering his tracks, he doesn’t want anyone else possessing his power and he has clearly shown disdain for his clan given that he has not helped them in any way or form to accomplish the same which is their like whole life’s mission. He is revered by them now at this point as a myth and legend and it’s interesting that this has happened to along ago because that what the stone tablet time frame makes note of and when we do meet him I believe while he is or was selfish he is for the most part nuetral and good. He’s beyond the ideals and values of his clan. My theory is he is the reason for life on earth as well maybe he’s the reason earth is special and had sage energy running through it, the timing makes sense and earth had taken so long to find by the other otsutsuki because he had been hiding it. Btw I believe Ishhiki had spoken to Amado about him which is why in the latest chapter amado somehow knows a lot about his history. It literally makes sense that ishhiki has been following in his footsteps as well as telling code farewell with a representation of his idol shibai with all of those pure eyes to become a god. He found the planet shibai was last on but couldn’t find his body but supposed that performing the divine tree would give him the same power which is why I think shibai did something different on earth to get it because we saw the result of what eating it looked like and kaguya didn’t transform beyond a physical state thought at that point shibai had eaten likely many fruits. I still think he did something different on earth. Anyways, Amado finds his body, and keeps it sercret as well as manipulating his cells to create eida and daemon who were again made in secret. So yea it all makes sense now. My only question is how shibais body was preserved, like how?? His body has been dead for thousands and thousands of years how is that possible and how would it be possible to detect? Was it preserved in a shrine or sacrifice from old? I need more information on how his body was discovered.

In most situations where we've seen the Infinite Tsukuyomi used those trapped in it see their "perfect scenario" in a dream-like state. Man Orochimaru is my favorite character in the Narutoverse and these theories are certainly interesting, especially with Mitsuki and Toneri. Also the fact that Orochimaru no longer needs to find a new vessel due to taking over White Zetsu's body gives him all the time he would ever need to set any plans he may have in motion..

I think Orochimaru is the progenitor of the Otsutsuki via time travel shinjutsu techniques. I haven't fully pieced it together yet, but I think there is a huge Orochimaru/Amado/Otsutsuki connection that has been staring us in the face. Also, if you take the 2 greatest scientists ever who are both obsessed with very similar things, they both have major Otsutsuki features to the point many people have theorized that each are Otsutsuki. Also they each have the Otsutsuki features that the other doesn't. Only thing missing between the 2 is dojutsu.

I think it was implied Orochimaru was too weak to become a snake sage because his host body was decomposing from his body transfer technique. I don't think his original body would have had this problem.

The thing is Orochimaru first went to the snake sage in his original body. The great snake sage bites you and pumps in a lot of snake sage chakra. You die if you're not able to handle it. Orochimaru didn't die. Orochimaru got the ability to pull in snake sage chakra. His body just couldn't handle it. He may have ended up with an imperfect sage body. This would explain the Orochimaru form Itachi stabbed with his Totsuka blade.

Orochimaru found his perfect vessel within a white zetzu, which are beings mostly comprised of the 1st hokages DNA. I truely do just think he was a greedy guy avoiding death. But i do think its weird that mitsuki knows what an otsusuki is at the chunin exams during the attack. And whats weirder is he says it like he knew they were coming. Plus orochimaru’s parents have always been a secret identity. And the resemblance between toneri and mitsuki are super weird. But mitsuki literally also refers to himself as the moon and boruto the sun. So this theory isn’t completely null and void, but its not full proof by any means.

This pitch reminds me of when the community first saw how Kawaki looked, ppl had all kinds of theories! I remember watching a video of a guy talking about how orochimaru made Kawaki from Naruto and Sasuke DNA! and he took a DEEEEP dive into his reasoning as to how this was true and he had *strong* evidence too! But turns out he was way off 😂 Although this is really interesting and it would be cool to see this go full circle again ending with Orochimaru, I just don't think that's the case, the series has moved past Orochimaru as a villain and has for quite some time, but some really good points are made in this video though!

i really love the character of orochimaru - he has a nice character arc, real development thru the series, and he’s actually interesting . each relationship he has is multi-layered, from his love/hate dynamic with hiruzen to the point of death, to that similar but reversed sensei role with sasuke, to even the odd but true love he has for his son. not to exclude that he is the literal definition of an immortal, mysterious genius with undeniable strength, he is a two-time war hero & criminal simultaneously. also: that i could use “she/her” to describe orochimaru & it would neither be accurate nor inaccurate without changing the way his character is viewed somehow is a feat in itself. believe it or not, orochimaru isn’t even my favorite character-although he’s definitely not far from it. AND without orochimaru in the story from the start, the entire plot of naruto would crumble…just fascinating. 🐍

Personally? I think that it makes Orochimaru infinitely less interesting if you connect him to any big clan or group. Orochimaru is the ultimate example of a nobody bringing himself up to become something incredible, someone important. I think that Orochimaru doesn't need to be an Otsutsuki, and more importantly, I think that these theories have a few holes, not the least of which when Nick mentioned young Orochimaru slapping Shin Otsutsuki's DNA onto his.

Sounds a lot easier than wasting his guinea pigs that could be used for other experiments. With the body swap, he has to wait 3 years and even then, it isn't a guarantee he can win the mind battle. With the curse mark, it only succeeds on 1/10 people. It would just make way more sense to plop skin on some random than to go through all the processes of the other methods to pass his consciousness

No amount of body modification will change that. Kabuto went mad when he grafted the skin to himself WILLINGLY. Imagine what would happen if there was zero choice in the matter. It's much easier to counter act the DNA with the medical advancements in the present day and time within the story.

Don’t get me wrong I like minato a lot like my 3rd favorite but he don’t hold a candle to orchimaru. No one comes even close. Orchimaru needs his story told past present and future. My personal head cannon is that he is a hybrid of some level and is at least vaguely aware of it, he just doesn't care unless it helps with his research and over the years he basically became a toxic otaku that didn't care what lines he had to cross so long as he got his information. Then after he mellowed out he realized he previous methods weren't the most efficient in the long run and is now pursuing knowledge simply for the sake of it regardless of how strong the technique actually is.

Mitsuki actually looks like he has Kabuto's DNA as well, which would make sense since Kabuto had grafted Orochimaru onto himself., and part of the "resurrection" of Orochimaru involved flesh from Kabuto. Though Orochimaru abandoned that body to enter into Tsetzu, it seems Orochimaru tends to carry alot of the acquired DNA from his previous hosts with him during his body switches. As I recall, Mitsuki also has limited medical ninjutsu. With them keeping the same pattern with the teams, though changing up the characters with it in this team (boruto being the Sasuke/ Orochimaru type character, Sarada being the "hokage" character ect.) I could see Mitsuki becoming the medical nin of the team, between having Orochimaru as his parent and all the medical/scientist knowledge that goes with that. I wouldn't be surprised to find out there is still some loose connection between Orochimaru and Kabuto. As for Orochimaru being an Otsatsuki, they travel in pairs...so one would think the Otsatsuki God had a partner. It is possible that that partner was abandoned when he assended and was trapped on their world, possibly founding a snake clan with a snake sage which ended up producing Orochimaru, and said clan was wiped out like so many other OP clans like Uzumaki and others, hence leaving Orochimaru an orphan. It is possible that he suffered something similar to what Sasuke did, in seeing not only his family wiped out, but his entire clan.

I always found Orochimaru's alignment shift in Boruto to be uncharacteristic, especially with the knowledge about the Otsutsuki being revealed at the end of Shippuden. He's not the kind of person to just ignore literal celestial beings (or at least not make studying them a top priority). It'd make sense if he was actually looking into becoming an Otsutsuki and playing nice with the Leaf to throw some suspicion off of him.
