Hmmm...you are the first person that is saying Orpaz is bad. I've been using Orpaz with my HK USP 45 for years now and I absolutely love it. I will also look that holster up to see if there is any other issue than what you pointed out. Thanks...

Yeah, no idea why he doesn’t like it. I have a IWI Jericho, and it is awesome. The only issue I am having, and I haven’t played with it yet to fix it, is there is a slight bit of vertical play. It’s not a retention screw issue (that makes the holster more tight when pulling out the weapon).

@@andoriannationalist3738 Sorry I am late to this comment as KZbin failed to notify me back when you first commented but, If you have to ask why I don't like it, I recommend rewatching the video and watching the latest video I made about it as well. Lets start with two of the four mounting screw holes not being threaded. Meaning I cannot use any other style of mount except the belt loop and have to thread the holes if I want to use any other 3 mount attachment. Second: The fact the backstrap broke after a few times of practice is just poor quality and inferior parts. Third: The magnet is incredibly strong and having issues pulling the firearm from its holster in a firefight could mean life or death. fourth: there is not enough room by the trigger guard to get your middle finger in the right position to pull and put accurate rounds on target(Try this next time you are at the range and you will understand) fifth: It says it can accept any light style which is cannot as the TLR-1 has issues clearing the sides and causes it to rub. Now, I will say I like the design and it was a good thought but a horrible experience in my own opinion. In the firearms community I believe we need to be more strict on holsters and accessories and these are items that will secure something that can take a life. I take it very seriously and If I don't trust my life with it, then I won't recommend it to others. Thank you for watching the video and commenting. I hope you have a wonderful day.

This is the firearms world my friend. You are taking about parts on vehicles compared to floor mats... this company wants you to buy everything new because their commitment is money.. not product and customer satisfaction. Other holster manufactures have their own style mounting but this is one of those that closely matches BlackHawk that doesn't fit. Honestly not the biggest issue i have. the fact that two of the three mounting holes are NOT threaded. that is a big no for me.

Isn't there an adjustable magnet at the base? Try raising that which should raise the gun in the holster giving you a better grip. Last reviewer I saw did say you may have a lot of modifications to do to customize it your specific needs.

I was able to solve the full grip issue by not using the thumb pad. When going for the full grip, my knuckle is in the perfect spot to depress the button.
@Crazyirishfan
@Crazyirishfan Жыл бұрын
I see his point on the belt attachment. This issue I'm not sure could be modified without weakening the belt attachment to the holster. I have always liked the Safariland attachment with 3 screws. Durning ground fighting I wonder if this holster would hold up. I have always liked the Safariland quick detachment and it has never failed me and are convenient . As far as your middle finger hitting down by the trigger guard, that's an easy fix with a dremel tool. What I have found in my 31 years in law enforcement is that a lot of this type of equipment is made for the masses. Sometimes a little modification is needed to personalize it. The magnet constantly hitting your barrel crown could cause some unwanted wear on the crown, but again I think that also could be an easy fix. Not sure if I would like the gun retention set up this has, that's something I might have to get use to. Hopefully Orpaz reads the reviews and comments and could easily make these modifications. Shouldn't have to do it yourself but sometimes you have to make gear fit your needs. Allen wrench screws are much better definitely gets them tighter and less chance of stripping them. Overall from what I'm seeing is I think I could make it easily fit my needs!

Phillips head strip way easier than Allen. I’d much rather have Allen or torx. And you wanted them to make it compatible with everyone else’s stuff? Good luck. They make their own modular system and it seems fine
@datboi__

Safariland uses Allen?.... And they do offer a qd even when this video was released. The placement of the thumb release seems like it could be too high but other than that your criticisms are fairly moot And I just saw another review whee it shows how you can make the holster smaller to adjust for different guns which is cool. In that video he also shows how the magnet is adjustable up or down to adjust how high or low the gun sits so the problem of the thumb release being too high can be remedied as well. After watching another it still seems like the thumb release might too high even after adjustment but I can't verify this

I feel like most if the complaints can be corrected by some slight modification and or training. I'm with you that it sucks to have to do that but it's also not a $300 system like the safariland. Id be happy to match a $3 pack of screws up to it but let's be honest though..... what tool do you use to change the pistol grip on your ar? Ah a hex wrench.... this is what an admin pouch is for right? I have hex keys stashed away in pistol grip compartments of my rifles. The cheek riser on the buttstock of my m1a needs one to take back the set screw. This is what pcc/pci are for. Set your gear before you need it.

As a side I did like your video and I do honestly appreciate the criticism of the product. That said we don't need to be so nit picky. From the looks of that magnet you could probably release the lock up top when things start to feel hairy and be fine.

@@cody4487 thanks for the feedback! I really like the magnet. It felt very secure but with my big hands i felt that i could not get a correct grip on the firearm while it was in the holster. When you train your brain is not in fight or flight mode. I try to put myself in a state of "how would this go if i was being shot at?" And with the issues i found, though small they may be, i don't trust my life with them. It is all about personal preference though and i was just giving my opinion. I plan to re visit this holster in more detail soon. And plan on buying their updated model. I really want to give them another chance. Maybe i just got unlucky and got a defective product 🤔 but thank you again!

@@EverydayZach You're very welcome. I can definitely concede that the best move is to get the gear that works best for you before you need it. I actually went ahead and picked up one of these holsters to try it for myself. Because I'm running a P10C with an olight baldr s it's difficult to find a holster that works. You're review while it may be a little picky at points is still solid though. I would rather have someone be picky rather then hide the flaws or potential setbacks of something Because of bias. For those who are reading this I can say this holster will work for the above mentioned weapon and light combo.

There are some interesting points but I actually use it for my hellcat which works great. I am guess for the grip its probably just an issue with glock cause again for the hellcat its really good. I personally prefer allen wrenches cause I find my self being able to tighten the screws a lot better than phillips but would have liked if they would have used on size for everything rather than two different sizes. I would also say they should have taped and used more common spacing for the holes on the back so that it could ve used with a variety of other products rather then just there own

Ah.... it.... its the same thread just different tool used to tighten it.... 😶 the only real difference is how tight u can get them. A phillips will cam out at a certain torque when an allen wont.. but you honestly will never need it that tight and if u do you have a serious problem. Black hawk has been using phillips for years and i have never had an issue with them backing out.. it literally a cost to profit application. Phillips cost less because manufacturing is easier. Use lock tight (as u should be with all your bolts/screws/ect) and it would be fine...

I'm using the T40 holster with low-ride attachments; it's an awesome holster!! The quality is excellent, and I love the modularity that this company offers. Making it compatible with other brands adaptors would have made this holster a lot more compatible and appealing. As for the screw heads, it would be nice to have phillips but not a huge problem. The fact two of the four holes were not threaded, thats the huge problem. @EverydayZach
@EverydayZach 2 жыл бұрын
So this holster is actually NOT universal. That was my mistake as the Amazon page misclassified it. Secondly, are you really going to get butt hurt over a Glock?! That might be the dumbest reason to get upset If you think its okay to skimp on safety for firearms and we shouldn't be critical on something that can save and end life, you are the problem and I don't want you here. I take firearm safety more serious then a heart attack. These are not toys and should not be treated so carelessly. Hence the reason we ha e thousands of accidental shootings and deaths a year in the US. The holster was made for this firearm and does not fit correctly, broke during use, and came already missing threads to secure the holster... I don't think you fully understand the issues and if you do have one of these holsters, you either have found an issue and want to skimp on safety, or actually got a good holster but i can tell you this holster is hot garbage and I will not change my mind until i see the issues fixed.

Everything about this looks questionable but maybe workable if the circumstances are right. However that plastic sticking up around the bottom preventing you from getting your ring finger tucked properly up under the trigger guard is an absolute no-go for me. As you said, you shouldn't have to immediately reposition your hand after drawing. That's too much to think about and too much time wasted in the crucial moment. Theoretically you could just dremel away the excess plastic as needed, but who wants to spend $100+ and immediately have to do arts and crafts just to make it do the most basic things a holster is supposed to do?
@EverydayZach
@EverydayZach 3 жыл бұрын
I was actually planning on removing some plastic to make it fit better. Buut.. I started wearing it around the house and doing some practice pulls when the backstrap broke. I have an updated video on this holster because of all the flack I received from this video lol. You are right though. to have to reposition your hand in a gunfight may sound easy but, your brain is only thinking on one thing.. survival. A bad grip can cause a malfunction and that can lead to death. Some people don't understand how important a holster is and these people who think it is just "Little things" probably don't train. Or don't fully understand how stressful having to pull your firearm out is. I had to do it twice at work and once on a guy who drew a knife on me in a parking lot. After that, I understood how being comfortable with your firearm requires being comfortable with all attachments and securing devices(EG IWB, OWB, Drop down leg, ect) Thanks for the comment!
