I always thought I'd seen this, but I guess i hadn't. This was done really well. Great Reaction. I'd also recommend: 1. The Good Son w/Elijah Wood and Macaulay Culkin 2. The Hand That Rocks the Cradle w/Rebecca De Mornay 3. Single White Female w/Bridget Fonda 4. Heretic w/Hugh Grant (This film is outstanding and no one's talking about it) All four films are written/acted very well and are filled with the same level of suspense that this film contains. Hopefully you get around to checking out a few. Take Care ...

Best plot twist in 2009. All the actors were amazing. Vera Farmiga is always stunning. The actress who plays Max is really deaf which means that she done an incredible job. Isabelle Fuhrman at 12 years made all this and put also an eastern accent on his character. Horror gem. Orphan First Kill is a good prequel.

Isabelle Fuhrman earned my respect with this performance. She did such a great job at playing bother Esther before and after the reveal. What’s crazy is Isabelle was 12, pretending to be 33 year old Esther in this film. But in the sequel Isabelle was 25, pretending to be 8 or younger again, but also 31 because First Kill was supposed to be like a few years before Orphan. And they used practical effects to de-age her to some success.

Speaking of the hunger games, I remember that I saw interviews that she auditioned for the role of Katniss but she was a little young so they went with Jennifer Lawrence, or something like. Also about the hunger games, the tribute that Katniss kill in the first movie and got a flashback about in the beginning of the second one is played Jack Quaid from that boys. I didn't know it was him till way later.

I love this movie the twist is just so good because at the start you really do wonder is something actually off with Ester. I really enjoyed the scene where Ester is basically taking off her costume and revealing like her true form, I loved max she was adorable, I always felt nobody really understood how Daniel was feeling pushed aside and left out his parents should've actually talked to him, and I know from the husband's pov Ester is a saint but my God he didn't listen to his wife at all and was a huge hypocrite.

The Movie based on a true crime story. The movie is inspired by Barbora Skrlová, a real woman who was discovered posing as a 13-year-old boy in Norway . 10 years after Orphan’s release in 2009, another incident occurred, in which an Indiana couple-named Kristine and Michael Barrett-adopted a six-year-old Ukrainian girl named Natalia Grace, who had a form of dwarfism that made her around three feet tall but also gave her additional difficulties with mobility.

If you watch the entire movie JUST from the dad's perspective, nothing he did was dumb or signified him being a bad husband. He didn't even flirt with the neighbor lady. He said him and his wife would come over, which is the perfect way to shut that subtle flirtation down. And when you catch your alcoholic wife with emtpy bottles around and she's endangering the children, demanding she see a professional is absolutely the right thing to do. Just imagine if all of the same things happened, but the mom had been wrong about Esther. Would you want a father to kid out the new daughter just because the mother can't control her disease?

I always thought thought the dad's actions made sense. It feels like people are way too harsh on the dad. I understand people saying he should've listened to his wife but it didn't seem like she trusted after his cheating years ago so why would he trust her on this especially with Esther specifically making herself a saint in his eyes.

@mpatient133 6 күн бұрын
He’d cheated on her before which is why she had doubts. So I won’t blame her for that. He was right to be concerned about her endangering their kids but she was giving him proof left and right about Esther and he still wasn’t hearing it.

@@mpatient133 I didn't blame her for having doubts. I thought it was well played. Especially how he said he cheated 10 years ago, so he felt like it was distant. But she only learned about it 2 years ago so to her it was more relevant.

The funny thing is that everyone that hates the husband would be the husband in real life, if they found themselves in a similar situation. Unlike movies, we don't get an omniscient view of everything to clue us in that this person or that situation is bad. From the perspective of the husband, and everyone in that world, the wife had lost it and was blaming everything on a little kid.
