I've grown to love projecting. Obviously, I do it many grades blow Orrin's project but the process is always the same. It goes from: it's impossible, to --it might go, finally to: it will definitely go--this, next year or sometime in the future. Really good film, Andrew. And both Orrin and Luis and beasts.

deffo love the fact that he admits that it might just be hard for him. have found that what suits you makes a hell of a difference, i've found boulders easy that people hell of alot better have found really hard just because it suits my style of climbing, and also the otherway round, they've expected me to cruise a boulder cos they found it easy but I just get blown off session after session. but then again I'm a climber that now and again boulders and they are boulderers that now and again do a few climbs.
@biltongandboba4 жыл бұрын
Considering the amount of sessions Orrin took on Limit Breaker in the first place compared to the other 8B+s he's done, I had always wondered why he didn't grade it 8C, makes sense I think then to at least grade the low start 8C although of course I haven't actually climbed it lol, and style differences for Orrin. Also interesting and kinda separately is Off the Wagon sds, that's an 8A into an 8B+ that gets 8C+ because I suppose adding an intro into the big jump makes it so much harder/lower percentage too. Opposite to United which is an 8B+ into an 8B+ and gets 8C+ which I also found interesting but again I haven't climbed any of these. What I said about Off the Wagon sds also applies somewhat to Lucid Dreaming, from almost all the ascenscionist videos I've seen of it, the individual moves aren't a massive obstacle but everyone agrees that putting those two moves in succession is a whole other ballgame.

Hi there, I understand you're feelings towards this, topping out always makes a climb feel a bit more full. But in many places all over the world there are plenty boulders that drop off, either because it isnt possible to top out, access is sensitive, or it's just at the bottom of a cliff for sport climbing. Some good examples are Chris Sharma's "Catalan Witness the Fitness" V14/15 or Adam Ondra's "Brutal Rider" V16. I'm sure you wouldn't question these legends of our sport on how legitimate their ascents are? While it is true I could potentially top out this roof climb we're talking more about soloing an 8c or harder sport route at that point. Which is a bit different game all together... Thanks for sharing your opinion, I hope you understand my reasoning a bit more now 🙂
