I was there in the front, thanks to a friend of a friend who camped out all night in line to get tickets. Los Lobos opened, and I knew all the songs they sang in English. We road tripped from Vermont and stayed overnight in Syracuse. It was magical. Thanks for the upload.

Bono had fallen walking off the stage after the first set at RFK in Washington DC the week before. Remember it so well. There was a big delay but the crowd never stopped screaming. He came out and finished in a sling. It was perfect U2 weather. 50s with a misty rain = wet stage. Perfect night!

Wow..U2 is still amazing..But this is when the band meant so much to me.Before Joshua I would draw U2 symbols around school.On desks and such(I was a punk)and people would say "What's a U2".This is where they exploded and everyone jumped on board.which was great.But being 16 at the time.It was wild to see them go from the next big thing to full on legends!!.Made me proud as sh*t to be irish!!.Let's do it all over again!!

Was not a huge U2 fan at the time but liked them enough from my couch and MTV, more hendrix, johnny winter, dead etc.. but scalped tix to see them couple nights before at the meadowlands. First thing that caught my attention was the buzz in the crowd before they even came out. Then from the first note i got blown away and still to this day the hair stands up on the back of my neck and i get choked up telling people how fucking unbelievably good they were.

Michael Seehusen I saw them three times on this tour and met them after one of the Houston gigs. Pure magic, and I will never forget!!! Debating on whether to go the JT 30th anniversary tour because I'm not sure if this magic can ever be surpassed even though I am a huge U2 fan. So glad these shows can be found on KZbin so I can relive the memories. ❤️

For those who may not know Bono's arm is in a sling because U2 was playing an outdoor concert in the rain a few days earlier and he slipped and fell on the wet stage. His arm is not broken but the shoulder was dislocated

Is it just me or can Bono not find the key to sing in when they play Exit?
@jasonlefler34567 жыл бұрын
Nate Powell I agree with you on this rendition of Exit. I've never heard him sound off on any other attempt though. When his voice gives him trouble, it's not pretty. Better that he go with the talk approach to the vocal, as he did in the "even the hands that build" verse. It's a shame because this tune is a beast when all cylinders fire. Bono doesn't just want it to end and move on either. That push into the Gloria section of the performance is cathartic.
@sbirrito7 жыл бұрын
don't think his voice was giving him trouble.he sings the Gloria bit fine and every other song that's in a high key.My guess is his monitor wasn't working for the start of this and he couldn't hear the rest of the band,.....or he was trying to be arty and speak the words.

the buffalo was after this show. they played the Aud as it was affectionately known by. it was was of the few indoor venues they played on this tour. you can see that bono is struggling with certain parts of songs at this show. the buffalo show was a disaster . the band played maybe 35 minutes as bonos voice had gone due to illness. it sounded like a frog croaking . they left the stage and never made up for the debacle that show was. for me it was the only black mark this band showed to their fans. no refund either. luckily i saw them in toronto at c.n.e. stadium .

No one else is mentioning it so I guess I have to: Bono is badly BADLY out of tune on Exit. He gets it together towards the end but for a while there he's musically not even on the same planet let alone the same key as rest of the band.
