Yeah i lost my dental insurance (aged out and didnt know) in between one of my routine cleanings and a filling touchup (there was too much filling on the outside of my tooth and i couldnt floss it). What was going to be a $50-$80 visit was suddenly nearly $300, and i havent gone back since. Still dont have insurance due to missing both application windows through my workplace. Still cant floss those teeth. It sucks that teeth are luxury bones that require their own private insurance, different from general health.

the reason people do these home based remedies is because the cost of going to the dentist is expensive today... and if you take into consideration that not all companies offer affordable health insurance or dental insurance, the thought of spending hundreds of dollars on just one tooth, and then possibly finding out you have another problem, and taking care of that problem will be even more expensive than the current problem you have, is very frightening.. and please, dont misunderstand me, im not saying that all remedies work or anything, i do enjoy these videos, it encourages me to keep better care of my teeth... i just can understand why some (not all) people dont want to go to the dentist

Bentist, I have a question for you. It is a very unusual question. My oldest son, who is now almost 32 years old, had an odd phenomenon happen with his baby teeth that nobody could explain. When he would lose a baby tooth, it would explode after sitting out a few hours. I mean pieces would shoot across the room. Every one of his baby teeth did this. Of course, I had the fun of finding the exploded pieces so the tooth fairy could come visit. What caused this to happen? It never happened to my other three kids. Have you ever heard of it or had experience with it?
@TyneeBubbles

Woah, had no idea exploding teeth was a thing! Just thought it was a silly paranoid fear I had 🙃😅 I had to know, so I did some Googling; it doesn't seem to have a conclusive answer, but I did find this theory, which could make sense "the explosion was caused by a build-up of gas inside the tooth, perhaps occasioned by decay. " What a mystery!

I had a friend who lost a front tooth and he was extremely self conscious about it like over the top. But he ordered those little plastic beads to form a tooth for in the meantime until he got it repaired and i helped him make a tooth we messed up the first few but we got one that was really good then we stained it with coffee i think or maybe tea and it matched extremely well there was no way anyone could tell under normal circumstances if you didn't know. I think he made 2 or 3 that he used i know there was a lot of messed up ones in between but for the 2 months or so he went through a couple he accidentally swallowed one which was funny. I dont think I would care about it but for someone missing a tooth that really wants a cosmetic look i believe its a very good choice you just need patience to learn how to work the plastic and how to get it to fit well then stain it otherwise its toilet bowl white.

Tylenol works by two separate cellular operations, and due to the mucus membranes in the mouth you will absorb some of it if you put the liquid in your mouth - this is actually a common method for some drug deliveries that have poor gastrointestinal absorption or that have high first pass metabolism (ex: your stomach won’t absorb the drug or your liver will filter it out before it hits your blood stream). By just holding it in your mouth you can bypass those functions, though as you said basically all of these drugs taste disgusting. Alternatives to buccal absorption (holding it in your mouth) are your nose (why cocaine users snort it) and rectal (these are called suppositories). Some medications are delivered either nasally or rectallt because that’s where you need the medication, but others are delivered that way because of poor absorption if you eat it or if you can’t otherwise swallow it (ex: you’re constantly vomiting). Is it worth it though? Not really. Use Oragel (which is topical lidocaine and works very quickly) for immediate help and swallow the Tylenol for longer lasting relief.

If only I didn't have 3 kids full time and two of them no mom (passed away) Medicaid doesn't cover dental and I can't afford dental insurance elsewhere because they get and deserve everything I can give.. Their health and happiness is priority making sure they can smile is worth the pain of constant infections and my emotional pain of being embarrassed to smile and laugh around others... The pain is unbearable at times.... So in pain panic we start to try any and everything possible ways to kill the pain... Even when you know deep down it's obviously it's a dumb idea... The "it won't hurt to try it I guess" mentality becomes the only hope left... No matter what I will always sacrifice my smile just so they can smile every time... Ive always loved watching your videos because you're so funny and they're also informative. However, when you said "So many people try all these natural remedies and crazy things instead of just going to get the problem fixed, just go to the dentist!" It sort of irked me. The whole reason for these at home remedies are to help with the pain that's caused by a cavity etc. And it's most likely being used because not every person can just 'go to the dentist' It's expensive as hell going to the dentist, even with dental insurance. But most people don't even have that and it makes it even more expensive. I couldn't afford going to the dentist for 7 years because of struggling for money. And I went through a lot of pain during that time where i tried every at home remedy I could find to try to help with the pain. So trust me, if we all could just go to the dentist whenever we had a toothache or a cavity, then everyone in the world would have perfect teeth lol. So, please try to remember that next time you say something like that.

You said that whiskey has sugar in it, you may want to learn how whiskey is made. When you start yes there is sugar, but the yeast eats the sugar and converts it to alcohol. Once the yeast has converted 99% of the sugar into alcohol, it gets distilled. The first bit is not used because it is poisonous, the second part which is known as the heads is mixed with the tails for the right desire of taste. If there is any sugar left in that bottle, it will slowly convert to alcohol as well. After been kept in a barrel for more than a year, there's no way any sugar is left in there, unless someone adds it in, and no one will make their whiskey cheap like that.

Well sir .. in this country .. Dental visits are not covered on insurance plans very well .. me for instance .. Brush and Floss twice a day .. sometimes a 3rd when I get 2 come home for lunch .. But for most of my early adult life and teenage years the insurance I had did not cover for dental visits in a way financially my parents could afford it .. (State medical insurance) So therefore If I ever had any problems such as needing braces or crowns .. I was SOL .. I got in a car wreck when I was 18 that crushed my jaw and shifted the majority of my teeth around .. I was left with cracked and broken teeth .. (none of my front thank God only shifted slightly) But seeking help or hoping insurance would cover anything 2 replace or help with anything other than extractions and cleanings was not happening .. So I got faced with either going in debt or living with it .. and yea when Ive went 2 a new Office .. I get judged .. Kinda just like you just did these people ..

Lol, those tongue videos reminded me lowkey of myself... I have geographic tongue (i.e. migratory glossitis) and it makes my tongue look funky but also kinda cool.

I had tooth that was coming out and one side was open all the way and one Sid was completely closed so my mom put some oral gel on it and it made my mouth numb but it stopped hurting so I kinda recommend that

Clove oil tastes like cloves, honestly, and then it tastes like nothing because it numbs you. It can also melt plastic.

I honestly think some people are just dam unlucky with teeth. I know people who are meticulously careful caring for and cleaning their teeth and still got cavities n had to have root canaries..

Clove is good. It's a natural breath freshener. MY dad and his siblings ate them all the time. Old country stuff.

I literally just bought your water pic because I just had my top arch removed (my teeth were falling out of my face from my heart and seizure medication and a bad orthodontist in high school who stripped my enamel off from the bonding he did (I never lost a bracket but now I’m 28 with no teeth and I have comy-lyte implants.
