Ortlieb Waterproof: it's in the name!

Great factory tour. Ortlieb are one of those rare companies who truly understand their customers. I've been using the 'urban' commuter bag for 5 years and can vouch for its waterproofing. They're also good for their 5-year warranty as my first bag developed a split between welds at 4years 10months and after going through the correct process I'm now the proud owner of a new replacement so I can keep on riding to work. 10/10.

I switched to Ortlieb because other known German brand failed on me really bad, opened seams because bad welding, I was in the middle o a long tour in Central America and headed to South America with sewed panniers, no longer waterproof! The warranty team sent me new panniers to Norway when I was in Colombia 😢 You buy something expecting to perform and last not to deal with warranty, because when you’re on the road and moving it’s not easy to deal with this issues, I was expecting to hear something about the no use of PVC for environmental reasons because I heard that that’s one of the reasons why many travelers are having problems with open seams, the alternative products should be as good or better than the used before. I also switched from standard touring panniers to a bickpacking set up, I went on a Ortlieb spree shopping, 15L QR saddle bag, full frame bag, 5.8 fork bags plus, QR Handle bar bag, 15L Handlebar bag with the accessory bag, the Gravel Bikepacking small panniers. I can’t wait to go and test the Ortlieb products, really exited for my next adventure Norway/Finland/Sweden/Norway, too cold now, thank you for the tour and cheers guys!

From Denmark: Great informative video. I am 79 years old and travel 5 months of the year by bike and Trailer for my gear. I have 8 Ortlieb bags Backloaders-frontloaders-Handlebar bags-one 49 Litres rack bag. All red/black. In 2022 I changed from my 2 Wheeler Koga bike to an ICE Sprint FS Trike + Trailer. It is a pity that Ortlieb does not produce a banana shaped pod (like the ICE one), I could use hanging on each side of the seat. 12,5 litre capacity each would be OK. Is it possible to have such a pod custom made? 🙏🙏🙏
