She makes a strong point. How can an entire generation call something fetish or evil when we don't even understand the language it has been recorded in properly. Every Christian would call our tradition evil and dangerous but accepts Pythagoras theorem. This was a man who created a religion based on eating beans. Imagine if because of this I said he is a madman I will not read his work. I have deprived myself and mankind of the opportunity of understanding this concept that could change humanity as a whole in ways we may have never known. The knowledge to be gained may seem so simple or small but remember complex things are simply a combination of simple things some of which could neutralize an entire system or order of events if they didn't exist. There could be knowledge in their that can save lives and if because of our personal beliefs we ingnore and shun it, are we not responsible for the lives that could be lost as a result?

Modupe Mama Iya Abiyamo mi , e seun o. Orunmila is the wisdom of Olodumare. All true Orisa energies are the cultures of primal womb. This is why we have Odu Ifa (the wisdom of the cosmic and material womb). And reason why the primal deity is a woman (Abiyamo Aye Abiyamo Orun). All these greek/roman/latin philosophers learnt in Ancient Africa and most of what they could assimilate were condensed in that form, tainted and repackaged for the whole world. Yes philosophy (Filosofi) is love of wisdom as philo is "love" and sophy/sophi/sofia is wisdom. Sophia is a woman's name. Philosophy is love of the woman/love for the woman. The woman is the womb. Philosophy is love for wisdom of the womb. The cosmic and material wisdom of the womb is Odu Ifa. Odu Ifa/Orunmila are cosmic "families" in the WOMB. There is no deity like Mother, there is no deity higher than the Mother. Orisa bi Iya kosi. Modupe O. Ase

I have always found how laws like the Newton's 3rd law of motion "to every action, there is equal and opposite reaction" and how yoruba sayings like "oko ta ba so mo ope lope n so mo ni" (i.e. throw a stone and a palm tree and you will get it thrown back at you) intriguing. Great video. There was Orunmila, the Irunmole (divine being for wisdom) who was a witness to Olodumare's creation of all beings and humans. And there was also the Orunmila, the human, who lived among the Yorubas. That's why Orunmila is both an Irunmole and Orisa. In fact, I heard one Ifa priest say, different Orunmila came to live among the Yorubas at different times. I will like to get the opinion of other Ifa priest on this.

@PetiteFleur, sorry to say this, but what the wise woman was saying in Yoruba can never be fully grasped in English, because English Language i far inadequate. I say this, not as a condescending matter, but to emphasis the fact. I speak English, maybe a little better than an average English man, and I speak Yoruba, and I must tell you that both Languages are operating on a different level and realm. Please, find a good Yoruba App on Google Playstore and learn some basic words, maybe you'll understand what i'm trying to say. Thanks.

call me crazy but the prophet/messenger known as Orumila/Ela is the man the world knew as Jesus/Yeshu/Yeshua from Oke/Mount Geti/Gethsemane which is called Galilee by the Romans. The Yorubas/Yaribas are the real jews but they do not know who they are. I know people will curse me which is fine but do your research and go read books by the European explorers like Mungo Park, Captain Forbes, Emanuel Bowditch, Landerer, Snelgrave and others and you will be shocked at what they knew about the Yorubas/Yaribas wherever the encountered them all over West Africa. They are the real children of Aku/Yakub/Jacob and the religion of their ancestors was misunderstood because it involved the Mosaic/Moshere/Moses bloody sacrifices with ancestral homage in the form of idols. They are not idolaters they were only misunderstood by ancient empires like the Romans, Mohemmetans and others. The only empire that understood them were the Greeks and you will find the same pantheon of Gods in their history.
