I would definitely be interested in seeing how you go about building Tameshi Reality Architect. It's not the most powerful HB commander, but if you like artifacts or enchanments, you may enjoy that deck

Huh, what a cool card, never seen Tameshi before. I'll add it to my list!

Ive struggled with Orvar in brawl.. I've found having 25-27 creatures helps. We need board state early, even if just to bounce, block, scry, etc..

I'm going to try it again soon, I feel like I could have played better
@vanillamoon73538 ай бұрын
maybe there's a low curve aggro blue/artifact deck (ginger brute, metallic mimic, bloodline pretender, low mana blue fliers or other evasive, ninjitsu, etc.). Orvar comes in with a spell or two and lets the board go wide for the kill? Counters, bounce, and tap try to keep the board clean for a little while?

That's a good idea, a mono blue tempo shell could allow Orvar maximum impact

Jetmir is my favourite card at the moment, I'm running a token building deck with him and having some really good luck in ranked standard with it!

Oh yeah, that's a powerful one, did you want me to try it out?

Thank you so much for giving Orvar a try! Hope you had fun with it :)
@reagansimpson64738 ай бұрын
Also, some I've played 50+ games of competitive Orvar, some cool things you can do are actually countering your own spells! Since Orvar trigger's upon targeting something with an instant or sorcery, the casting doesn't have to actually resolve. So you can play counterspells that normally would give your opponent treasures / cards and counter your own cards to give yourself the treasures or cards and the free clone :) there are so many cool things with this commander that make you feel like an evil genius at times haha

It's a super fun build! Countering your own permanent on the stack triggers Orvar???
@reagansimpson64738 ай бұрын
@@Waste_MTG well specifically if you were to target a permanent with an instant or sorcery, yep! you can counter that instant or sorcery and reap any benefit that may be to allow you to dig further into your deck. It's usually a super niche thing, but I saw a scenario where it might've helped you wriggle out of things. Mystic Sanctuary is also HUGE in this deck. It's essentially a shipwreck dowser that you can copy that also taps for blue, since you can copy ANY permanent. But for that counter example (Idk if it's allowed in arena I haven't tried this specifically) but you can thermal flux a permanent, then arcane denial it to actually draw yourself 4 extra cards. Not too shabby lol. But yeah after watching the video it appears he might be a better just commander than in brawl, although I have a deck that I play in brawl with about a 52% wr.

@@reagansimpson6473 That's dope, I didn't even think about copying lands! I'm going to give Orvar another crack down the line, if you want to send me your deck list I'll try it out
@reagansimpson64738 ай бұрын
@@Waste_MTG I'd love to, Orvar is definitely one of those commanders you have to play with a few times before you really get rolling with him. Is there a best way to send you the decklists? I can attach them here or email them. Whatever works best for you

Curious about the land mentality? 31 lands? And a couple MDFC's? Why so low? Even in down low midrange builds I'm frightened to run anything less than 40 and normally it's 42 to 46 lands.
@Waste_MTG8 ай бұрын
It's a good question, I include mdfc's in my land count because they are lands. My decks always have 36-40+ lands depending on the build
@Prof_pessimist8 ай бұрын
I have zero evidence of this. But I am going off what I've felt and what magic players like CGB has said. Swapping lands for MDFC's messes with the smoothing algorithm brawl has. It doesnt recognize them as lands. So it will always mana short you. I had alot better luck with draws and mana when I skipped swapping the 1 for 1 with lands. And treated them as spells. May Help?
