I am trying to write a short story on Osage from the 1750s (French-Indian War), I am trying to be very sensitive in how I portray the Osage nation as I am of European Descent (Bosnian Muslim). I am doing a lot of research to try to be as respectful as possible. I cannot find any Osage battle cry (I am aware of the stereotype and would like to stay away from these depictions-hand over mouth). Where can I find true Osage War Cry or War Whoop, so that I try to describe it in written form as true to the original as possible?

Write to the Osage tribal council and tell them what you have in mind. Have you read "Killers of the Flower Moon" & will you see the film? This is an important story in Osage history. By the way, the "hand over mouth" sound is called a tremolo, it's often made with the tongue, and it's the women who make that sound, both to encourage the men and scare enemies.

@@jamesstewart6079 The Osage tribe is alive and well. I come from other tribes different from the Osage but as a Indigenous person we all are one Race. I don't know why you told that young man what you said but it was a little rude. I don't know if he's Indigenous or not but he's human. We should all respect one another and May the Great Spirit guide us all. Dondaghovi 🙌🏼🤲🏼🕊️🪶

@@indiacorea128 They not alive... What you say are fakes

@@jamesstewart6079 Yes there are still real Osage people living. I know their history of murders and their history of people of non- Indigenous people trying to pass off as Indigenous people. But there are still some real ones left. I'm a Indigenous Woman and people try to pass of as being my race or tribe. It's really ignorant how some people want to be another race. The fakes create problems for us real Indigenous people. I know some people who are mixed and that's fine as long as you admit it. But no matter what there are still plenty of us Indigenous people around. I hope you are having a great day.🪶🪶🙌🏼🙌🏼☮️☮️

@@indiacorea128 go to Mexico their are millions of people of pure Native American blood and many Millions more of mixed Blood.....Mexico has about 90 percent of Native American people that live in North America....more then the U.S and Canada combined.....what is deceitful is the Native people of U.S and Canada speak English and Native people in Mexico speak Spanish both European languages so they have been seperated by language
